Oriole's Postseason Run: This is awkward

Full Disclosure: I've been a rabid NY Yankees fan since I was 8 years old and have enjoyed more postseason victories in my short lifetime than most fans should.  The Evil Empire is good if you're a Yankees fan :)

However, since I started dating DH over ten years ago I've been to well over 100 games at Camden Yards and have fallen in love with the O's.  I jokingly referred to Jeremy Guthrie as my boyfriend and I'm still a bit sad he isn't with the team anymore.  I've been to Fan Fest and Spring Training.   I've been to numerous Opening Days and too many games where the crowd attendance was less than 10,000 fans.  Because of all the free O's giveaways I've got more Orange in my closet than Yankee Pinstripes.

But, I'm still a NY sports fan.  I've adopted the Ravens as my AFC team and I've cheered for the O's not only because they're the home team, but my hubs has been a die hard O's fan since he was a kid.  He even has the world's ugliest O's table (someone please take that thing out of my house).

If last night's heated battle between the Eagles and Giants was any indication of how the hubs and I are going to cheer against each other's teams then I think we're in for a messy October.

I'll cheer for the O's, except for when they're playing my beloved Yankees.

  • And I should have added: DH and I have tickets to the Wild Card playoff game and the first two home games of the ALDS in Baltimore.  I've never been to a MLB playoff game and I really want to go!
