Meaningful Monday ~ 10/1/12

First - it's OCTOBER?????? Sheesh!

Second - let's hear some good things going on in everyone's life. I feel like all I've done lately is whine and complain, so I could use a reality check on the good things for sure.

So share your good things, things you're grateful for, etc.

Re: Meaningful Monday ~ 10/1/12

  • Let's see. I'm crazy grateful that we had a quiet family weekend this weekend. Lots of laughs, playing, and doing things DH and I just needed to get done.

I also had a fabulous visit w/ an old friend Friday night, and I miss her more than I realized.

I'm glad that my kids just get the 'normal' childhood illnesses. M has a double ear infection, but she's in good spirits and is otherwise healthy. When I see these kids who get RSV and pneumonia and whooping cough I'm so happy that we 'just' get lots of ick and ear infections.

I am so excited for jeans and boot season. And sweaters. And scarves. and my quilted vest. I. Love. Fall.

  • Yay for October! Cooler weather is welcome in my world. I am currently wearing jeans, boots, and a sweater (although it's short sleeve - more decorative than functional, still makes it feel like fall!) right now.

I am grateful I work in a place without a strict business casual dress code. I like the flexibility to wear jeans.

I am grateful that I have had such an easy pregnancy. I am getting much more uncomfortable now that baby is up to my ribs and kicking up a storm, but to make it to 27 weeks with only minor complaints is wonderful. I am very fortunate.

I am grateful that DS is talking! He has many words now and tries to imitate everything we say. He's been lagging in this department forever and it's nice that he's catching up on his own! While I love when he says mama, the way he says papa for DH just melts our hearts. And a neighbor's dog barking woke him up from his nap yesterday, and instead of crying like usual, he sat up and said "dog! woof woof." I about died laughing.

  • I am snuggling with my kids, with the cat on my lap right now. That's all I've got for now. I'll try to come up with more later.

  • I can't get over how amazing my teenage daughter is.  Granted, she has her moments - but I am so proud of her.  I got the nicest email from one of her teachers saying that "she is one of the most outstanding young people I have ever known in my career."  I mean really, how awesome is it to hear that from someone who has been teaching for 20+ years, about your own kid???  I am so lucky.

I hope that this doesn't mean the other two kids are going to be hellions!  ;-)
