Myabe you all know this? or someone else has some tips or comments or advice but here is what I have found.
So a while ago someone posted on FB about the TRU Tabeo kids tablet coming out . There was talk about it vs. leap pads etc.
this is the link to TRU they are preoder- online sold out, can still do in Store for $20 down. I was in Robinson yesterday and they were still taking orders. I didnt do it and decided to research a bit...

What I found is that just a few days a go a Law suit was filed against TRU by a company that is claiming they stole the ideas from the tablet they made and were supposed to be selling exclusivly at TRU starting last Nov. TRU apparently didnt really promote or push it and was designing the Tabeo that is even shaped similarly. TRU since decided to stop selling the Nabi tablet and is now promoting the Tabeo BIG.
The law suit is saying they want the release stopped and that they want possession of all the tablets!!! So IF you have preordered- there is a chance you wont get it???? here is the link the the article I read- there are however others if you simple google Tabeo.

SO I researched the Nabi- which version 2 is now out as the 1 was released last year. It has a bigger memory and runs off the same Android 4.0. this is the link to its site
I found that it is availible at Target Walmart and Best Buy but is $50 more BUT has more memory and maybe other better options?? (someone techy can compare maybe?)
I also found that there is a MEEP! tablet that TRU also carries for about the same price and a couple others.
I find it interesting that it seems the others were not promoted??? maybe i wasnt' looking but I had no idea there were so many kid friendly tablets out there and the way the Tabeo was promoted made me feel like it was a "FIRST!"
Just wanted to share, maybe it will help some of you that were thinking about getting the Tabeo!

We tried to pre-order one this weekend,but all the local toys r us were sold out of the pre-orders!! They said they were sold out at least regionally! So I winded up going to Walmart and getting the kids tablet there $199, but we put it on layaway and just need to pick it up and pay off by December 14th! I know Faith will be super excited
see but now I wonder if they ARE sold out or if they STOPPED selling the preorders because of the lawsuit pending... When I was at Robinson they has a TON of tags on the hook still.
Is it the Nabi?? walmart has it according to the site for $199

Yes it's a Nabi, Randy looked over all the specs and actually said it was better than the one at toys r us...guess we will see! It looks pretty good and same price as online...but the layaway is what got me to bite!
