Hello to RI from PA!

I stopped by tonight to remind you to make sure you are registered to vote or have updated your voter registration if you have moved or changed your name since the last time you voted. I know that you may not be in a battleground state, but it is still important to go out and vote, no matter who you vote for!

Re: Hello to RI from PA!

  • Registered here. Actually trying to fix a random voter registration issue that popped up from my OLD residence. No issues until now. I haven't lived there for 8 years, and had properly changed everything when I got married and changed states, but for some reason that city sent me a postcard with my polling location in my maiden name at my old address. Boggles the mind.

  • Thankfully I've been registered at our current address with no issues for almost 5 years! No worries for me on that front.

For RIers - remember that you need ID to vote this year! Drivers license, passport, school ID, and a few other things are accepted. Even just a SS card I believe works for this year, although you'll need a photo ID in coming years.

And.... while we are not a battleground state in terms of the presidental election, there is LOTS going on in national politics! There has been some redistricting, so make sure you know if you're district 1 or 2 for the US Congressional races. And look into the congressional races - there are 3 (of 4) seats up for re/election this year. Your vote definitely counts.
