Photo printing websites

I know this has been discussed before, but what photo printing website do you use? What do you normally order, prints, photo books, etc?  How long does it normally take to process and mail? Are you happy with quality?

Re: Photo printing websites

  • I'm too impatient to wait for pictures to come in the mail so I always go to Walgreens but I saw a side by side comparison of Walgreens and mpix and the difference was substantial. I know a lot of people really like mpix. I need to learn to have patience!

ETA: The pictures of your girls are amazing...they're adorable!!

  • For enlargements that I intend to frame, I use Mpix. It's been awhile since I've done it, so I don't recall how long it took, but it's never been a long period of time. I've never been disappointed by the quality.

For 4x6s, which I don't order often because I don't really do photo albums anymore, I've always used Shutterfly - either ordering online or picking up at Target, depending upon whether or not I'm patient ;) Again, it never took that long and I was happy with the quality.

For photo books I've used Shutterfly and MyPublisher. I preferred the design options by MyPublisher, but a lot of folks seem to find Shutterfly more user-friendly. Quality for both was fine - I wasn't ordering high-quality (ie wedding) albums, just hardcover albums for family.

  • I have been using Snapfish for years.  The quality is good and they always have some kind of promotion going on.  I make the albums I want, save them and wait to order them when they go on sale.

If I am getting prints in an 8x10 or smaller I can pick them up the same day at Walmart.

  • I think I may give mpix.com a try. Obviously after our photo session last Monday and now that I have the CD, I'm looking for the best quality for larger pictures.

  • Mpix is pretty fast, comparable to shutterfly (so in a few days), but the quality is much better.  I use both Mpix and shutterfly, but always mpix for sizes larger than a 5X7, it's a noticible difference.

  • Also, Costco does really good cheap prints and they are fast.  Otherwise, I love mpix.

  • I put together alot of photobooks and love Shutterfly.  Everything has always turned out great.  If you or anyone you know drinks Coca-Cola products you can save the points for free things on Shutterfly.  Most of my photobooks have been free (up to 20 pages) and then I just pay for the extra pages.  My large prints have also been free using the Coke Reward points.
