National Harbor

Family has talked about getting together after a wedding shower this weekend at National Harbor. I'll have DD with me and was curious if there was anywhere there that is kid friendly. As in, I can let her run and play and not be strapped in a highchair.

Re: National Harbor

  • I think they have some open space down by the waterfront and you could go in the Gaylord hotel and walk around. It's basically like a big outdoor mall. Most of the restaurants there are kid friendly. Don't go to Ketchup - it sucks.
  • Thanks! I'm really hoping we don't do a restaurant. All of us will have just come from a shower where there is supposed to be a ton of food, so I just can't see the reasoning behind going to a restaurant. It's all just seems like a clusterfuuck to me right now anyway, but I'm going with it.

  • There's also a Peeps store - that's always fun. It's down by the water.
  • There's a little "beach-like" area there too with a sculpture where a lot of kids hang out and climb and run and play.  That's probably your best bet for "run-around" space.  Inside the Gaylord is gorgeous too but it's kind of cramped in there IMO.  Definitely take a walk through though.  I haven't been down there since last Christmas though...there may be other things open now too.
