Avid knitter, learning to crochet

Hi ladies,

I'm an avid knitter. I've been knitting since I was a child. I'm picking up crocheting and wondering if there are any books or website you would suggest to help me out. Anything works. TIA

Re: Avid knitter, learning to crochet

  • Hey, I am an avid crocheter learning to knit! Haha. Anyway, I just kinda get on the Internet and look at all the pages it gives until I find a helpful one. But also. Walmart has some good books to help learn how to crochet.

  • Youtube is pretty amazing!  Search around for someone who you can stand to listen to their voice and look at their nails, there are LOTS of videos out that that are difficult for me to watch just because of their bitten off cuticles ;)

  • Youtube is great but if you want a bit more personal touch - check with your local joann fabrics or yarn store. Many of them have classes you can take. Otherwise, post on facebook, someone's friend or mom should know how and be able to teach you. My tip is to begin with something pretty simple - and with a variegated Red Heart type yarn to be able to see your stitches. Good luck! I've been 'hooking' since I was 7 and only finally got more intricate in my patterns.
