Game of Thrones

Has anyone watched this show?

It's the hubs and my newest obsession, however we don't get HBO so we have to wait until March when season 2 comes out on DVD... and maybe "stop by to visit" the in-laws the days it airs.

Re: Game of Thrones

  • Yes, we love it. I read all the books - H did not.  I think the makers have done a pretty good job trying to adapt the books, they're quite epic.

I'm sad they haven't even started filming season 3 yet. Book 3 is when stuff goes doooown.  :)

Ugh... you mean it takes another whole season for stuff to happen?! Jeeze man... I don't think I can stand Joffery for another episode, he makes me so stinkin mad. He's on my "die, Jerk, die!" list lol. I'm STILL reeling from what happened with Daddy Stark and Drogo.

We've only seen the first season because we borrowed the DVD's from a friend. I kind of wish we waited because I just really want to see more. Although I could do without the gore! Thank goodness we were watching the jousting episode with our friends and I was warned about the horse so I left the room.

Is it sad that the animals getting hurt/killed affect me more than the people? I think it's because I've watched too much CSI.

I haven't read the books, I'm on the waiting list at the library for the first book. The author is currently writing the 5th book correct?

Things definitely happen in Season/Book Two, but there's some major twists & turns in Three, I think.

Joffery is such a little wanker.  I feel kinda bad for the kid playing him, I've heard he's actually a sweet boy in real life - but now he'll have this character attached to him!  There's definitely a lot of blood, sex & violence - and it does not let up, just fair warning!

Actually, the author George R.R. Martin is working on the 6th book now - it's planned to be a series of 7 (7 books for 7 kingdoms). But I think it took him like, 6 years to finish the most recent book A Dance with Dragons. I hope it does not take near as long for the next one.

I will say that the books are worth the time to read, if you have it.

Also, this picture makes me laugh. (ETA: graphic language warning)

LOL! That picture is beyond perfect! And it's so true. I kind of wish the king knew that he wasn't his. I figured that out after a couple episodes, well before Daddy Stark did and I yelled "I KNEW IT!" And my husband was all "yes, babe, you'd make a great detective, now shush." haha.

I don't mind the twists so much, it definitely keeps you coming back for me! And the violence... ok I get it... but does it have to be so graphic? lol. The last 2 minutes of season 1 were epic, I do have to say! I can't wait to see what Daenarys does with those little babies. I'm sure it'll be epic because she's already pretty kick ass.

I definitely want to check out the books, I understand everything now but I was beyond confused in the first couple of episodes. It's hard to keep up with who's kids are who's and what new issue has come into play, because there is always something!

  • I love GoT! It's definitely worth reading the books, and the show does a pretty decent job with staying true to the books. I had to re-watch some of the first few episodes to keep track of who is who and what roles they play. After the whole Jamie/Cersei thing was uncovered, everything from the beginning I was like WTF IS GOING ON HERE?? made soo much sense.

I can NOT wait until next season.

Haha yes after the whole Jamie/Cersei thing I knew that little dink Joffrey was their incest nasty son.

At this point I feel so bad for daenerys. I can't believe all she went through the last two episodes. And of course the Starks. I hope the kick those lannister butts.
