I figure we can have this convo here instead of taking over the FFFC post.
RA - why don't you think you're doing it right?
are you using fertility friend? or just writing your temp/cm down on a piece of paper?
Re: Charting
It usually goes off your previous months and gives you the best idea based on pervious months. It cant guarentee anything unless you use OPK as well. Some of the other signs they want you to check in the cervical mucus (which is heavier and looks like snot) around your ovulation date. They also say you should check your cervix as well. I tried to do this and never could figure it out.
How long have you been using FF?
Most women dont. Not unless this BC method is what they use. Plus its kind of gross to some people. You have to be ok with touching yourself in a way that most people only think of as intimate or sexual.
You have to actually put your fingers inside yourself to feel your cervix. Again, tried it, didnt work.
Checking cervical mucus isnt as difficult but still a little more invasive that most women want to venture into. You run your fingers around the outside of your vagina opening and take note of what the "material" on your fingers looks like. FF will be able to help you further with telling the difference of what is what. Its been a while since i charted. But in your case, you will want to avoid intercourse around the times your cervial mucus looksl like egg whites. Andrea wants to jump Ben when hers looks like that. It means you are at your most fertile time of the month.
1st you should be taking your temp at the same time everyday as soon as you wake up, before you pee...or do anything
2nd - CM is easy to figure out if you know what you're looking for.
3rd - Cervix. I can't figure this out either??
a great book to read is Taking Charge of you Fertility. it explains everything to you so you understand your body and can chart to avoid or get pregnant.
and I think you only get crosshairs if there is a rise in your temperature, meaning you ovulated
