FFFC/vent/AW

I am so damn fed up with H's work shirts. I cannot get the stains out of them.  I pretreat, soak, I've tried bleach, a "dirty jobs" detergent, oxy clean...nothing works.  I GIVE UP.  This is stupid.

We aren't moving.  I am so glad.  H doesn't mind the commute and I didn't care for Tulsa and the thought of packing up, selling our house, and buying a new one with a new baby.  So exhausting...glad its off the table now.

My dog is attempting to ruin my new couch.  He loves to dig his bed into my far right couch cushion.  It's scratched all to hell.  On the bright side, tiny hasn't destroyed anything!

Coffee is the only thing keeping me sane, currently.

  • I just sent a complaint to Panera Bread because it took 23 minutes (I timed it) to get my salad (to-go) and they put cheese on it (asked to leave it off) and they were out of field greens (a main reason I get their salads) and there was no avocado (paid extra for it). Oh, and the cashier complained to me about a toddler who "had been crying non-stop for 10 minutes" to which I said... "this line is insanely long and I can't imagine expecting a toddler to wait patiently through it." The line was backed out the front door. I might have overreacted by sending them a complaint but I was starving and annoyed when I got back to find my salad totally not like I'd ordered.

Was it the Panera between Rockwell and macArthur?  I HATE that Panera.  I did the receipt survey two weeks ago because their dining room was filthy (it was 2:30pm, after the lunch rush. Come on), the bathroom was disgusting, my turkey cranberry panini was full of gristly turkey---ughh. So nasty.  They were also out of unsweetened tea, so I had to give my cup to the kitchen every time I wanted a refill. Which basically meant no one wanted to go fill the tea container in the dining area because they were too damned lazy.  Everyone that worked there looked to be under 20...and like they didn't want to be there at all.

  • ^^ No it was the one off of S. Penn & 104th.

I LOVE that panera off I-40! They always get my order right and they are SUPER fast (I usually go through the drive through).

  • Also:

I never wash my face. I rinse it in the shower and stuff but I don't own face wash.

    DS2 eats like 3 bananas a day.

  • MIL is keeping G over night tomorrow so we can have a date night (our first baby free night since June!). I can't freaking wait.

Also, we were invited to a wedding reception (the groom is a good friend of DH's) at the end of October. The reception is being held down the road from our house--totally convenient for us. I'm crossing my fingers MIL can keep G, but if she can't idk who we'll get to babysit. If we can't find a sitter I'll tell DH to go without me, but I really hope we both get to go. I hate not having a babysitter, or a reliable family member who's always available. Not too much to ask, right? Haha!

Some days G's diet consists of nothing but crackers, bananas, and cereal. I refuse to force him to eat something and I'm not a short-order chef so....oh well. He's being fed and that's what matters right?

  • I hired a maid service today and I was so excited about it until 1) they showed up a half hour later than the appointed time and 2) called a mere 2 hrs later (I paid for 6 man hours, so I guess they brought 3 people?) to say I was out of time and would have to pay more for them to finish. They had not finished the living room, kitchen, utility room, one bedroom and one bathroom. Wtf DID they clean for six man-hours? I'm so mad, especially since I told them my priority was kitchen and bathrooms.
  • We had a few interviews going on in our office today and each candidate was told by HR that everyone wears jeans in the office on Friday's, so they didn't have to dress up for the interview.  Our office is a professional environment so most people wear fairly nice clothes.  Out of all the candidates, only one shows up in jeans, and she's the only female of the group, the rest are wearing suits.  And her jeans weren't even nice.  She wore mom jeans, and then a wrinkled, long-sleeved button down denim blouse UNTUCKED, with casual flats and her tangled bed head pulled back in a ratty ponytail.  And considering she's early 20s, I can't imagine where she got her fashion sense except that she's a national merit scholar and apparently spent more time hitting the books than the fashion magazines.  I just hate it because she's an impressive girl, very smart and very athletic, but completely bombed her first impression.  And our HR lady didn't understand what the big deal was because she feels bad when people dress up for an interview when everyone else in the office is casual. WTF?  Interviews aren't about being comfortable in your clothes.  We have enough issues with a few women who have no idea how to dress for client meetings or speaking engagements and then they wonder why they aren't being promoted when their executive presence looks like a garbage lady.
  • That's tough, I feel like its unfair to judge someone for not dressing up if they were told explicitly not to dress up, but there's a difference between 'not dress up' and complete slob.

I will say that I wear 'casual flats' every day because I can't wear heels much anymore thanks to foot and lower back issues. I hope people aren't judging me at work or thinking I shouldn't be promoted for that! I would rather wear heels.

  • I have lost almost 20 lbs since April.  The only thing lifestyle change I have made is that I stopped drinking soda and sweet tea.  I alternate between thinking this is awesome and finding it worrisome.

I had an interview where I was told to wear my best "casual Friday," and Puppy can attest to the fact that I stressed about it hardcore! I ended up wearing my best dark rinse jeans, heels, and a nice short-sleeved sweater... and got a second interview (didn't get the job though.. argh). It was casual, but also very put-together. That's too bad the girl didn't get the memo that despite being casual, you still need to dress to impress.

My Vent/almost FFFC: I've been considering moving my horse to a new barn, and tonight I finally pulled the trigger and made plans to do so. He's getting excellent care at his current barn, for which I am grateful, but I just can't handle the "our opinion is the only correct opinion" mentality they have there. I'm sick and tired of these people constantly telling me that I'm making the wrong choices for my animal and treating me like I'm clueless. I'm not dumb, I make educated decisions (which have so far all been good ones, I think), and I don't like people talking down to me because my opinion isn't the same as theirs. It's not my fault they're not used to someone being there who actually has an opinion, but I've decided to alleviate them of that problem anyway.

Glad you're not going anywhere!  :-)

  • It's not Friday anymore, but I'm posting anyway!

DH is finally... FINALLY officially on med board status and I could NOT be happier! This means that he will go through a medical panel that will decide whether or not to give him a permanent "No run" waiver, or to medically separate/retire him. Retirement would be great, but at this point, I'm hoping for anything that involves exiting the military! The benefits are great, but I'm over it. This process is 6-9 months long. Best case scenario: Retirement decision by April/May and back to OKC!

My vent: My kid is a hitter. I hate it. I do not know how to fix it. We have time outs probably 15 times a day. He even got sent to the director's office at daycare last week. Totally embarrassing. We are not big on spanking, he's had exactly 1 in his life, so it's got to be coming from school. If you have thoughts on this, please feel free to weigh in.

The length of a minute depends on which side of the bathroom door you are standing on! Photobucket
What do you mean that's the wrong side? Tastes great to me!
