So I FINALLY got my last name changed back in August. I had been applying for grad school, got a new job, and had tickets to fly out to seattle this summer, so I put it off until everything settled down and I had time to wait for a new ssc and license. Well, I have been going around to places changing my last name in their systems and Bank of America is one of the last ones. I have had this account for about 7 years and just added J on in May so I was still the main person on the account, but he could have a debit card.
I go in, they take my name and reason I'm there, then I wait for an hour then finally a lady helps me. She takes one look at my account and says that J has to be there to sign in order for the change to go through... I had my marriage certificate, new ssc, and new drivers license, everything! and I'm the main person on the account. So frustrating.
Well, uncharacteristically of me, I replied "seriously? That's ridiculous. It's my account. I have my paper work". I got so mad and emotional for absolutely no reason. Of course at the end, I told her I wasn't mad at her, but at the situation. J and I go to school through all business hours during the week and then he works saturdays on the weekend. Like we have time to go into BoA to wait around.
I just want this done. bleh. I am the opposite of confrontational so this was big and ridiculous for me. Figured I'd post here to confirm that I can be slightly crazy haha
Re: Poor lady at BoA
Married the love of my life on 1-21-12. Our princess arrived on 5-28-13.
First off, I HATE BoA. The only account I have with them is a Mastercard that I don't use and that's only because they bought out MBNA.
I have seriously closed accounts for less than that. Just ask CapitalOne. Another bank that I every refuse to do business with again as soon as I can get the accounts closed.
