Victory! Delta finally came through.

After the flight schedule that nightmares are made of, Delta has finally offered me reasonable compensation for my time, extra expenses, missed meeting and added stress! I am all proud of myself :) . Out of four, i had two delayed Delta flights so far this week. The main one made me turn around after flying 30 minutes - I missed my connection (more then an hour) and missed a very long anticipated meeting. The only way to get to any of my meetings was to fly to a nearby destination and rent a car and drive. I was traveling for work and got worried about my expense report since it ended up costing me $380 extra just to get to my destination (from the car), and on top of that I missed presentations, wasted seven hours (including a return flight later) on non-working planes/airports. Six reps told me I had an impossible request for compensation - refund the rental car or change todays end destination so I wouldnt have to rent a car tonight (trade one rental for another). The end destination I wanted was a smalller airport with expensive tickets, but I thought that would be more likly for Delta to do then refund an outside cost. Wednesday's flight was again delayed and I got a very late start to my very long drive so I called customer service again yesterday and made my way to a supervisor - this woman was not only unwilling to help me, she was a total snot and infuriated instead of pacifying me. I was so mad that I looked up and emailed the Delta COE, the Customer Serivces manager, the VP of Customer Services and head of Customer Care....low and behold I get a call today - they are finally sorry for my troubles and helped me out with a changed flight (might not be a valuable compensation to everyone, but I worked well enough for me). . I do LOVE Delta, although this week I kinda hated them. I am glad I finally reached someone who had the power to and the willingness to work with me so I no longer felt taken advantage of. Yeah for me.....and I guess the lesson learned travell issues is just keep trying, if you really think you were wronged someone will be able to help.

  • I think you need a plate of cookies now for the A+ effort you put into this!!! Big Smile

So everyone is aware, with the POTUS flying around the nation a lot over the next few weeks for campaining, airports and flights will be having numerous delays.

Air Force One shuts everything else down.
