I forget wedding etiquette...

My cousin is getting married at a courthouse and then having a celebration a week or so later.  Do I take a gift?  I totally forget the etiquette of this situation.  It's like I've blocked wedding information from my brain.

I actually won't be attending the celebration, so I'm not sure if I should send a card/gift... ?

Re: I forget wedding etiquette...

  • I'm not sure what the technical rule is, but I would.  Is it a cousin you're close with?

I suppose you could say so.  She still has siblings under 18 so we attend their family birthdays and see them all at Christmas.

I checked out some sites to see if they decided to register, and they're not on Target or BB&B... so money it is I guess!

  • I don't think you are required to etiquette wise (but I'm a bit rusty too). If you want to give a small gift, no reason why you shouldn't if you really want to. And even if no gift is given a heartfelt card is always nice.
