wedding gift ideas for the couple that has everything?

We have a wedding to go to this weekend for our friends who have money and don't need anything.  what to do? any gift ideas? giving money seems sort of silly but i can't think of anything else. a bunch of us are trying to think of something.  we could even combine money to get 1 big gift but can't think of much.  the one idea i had was one of those huge bottles of beer/champagne- would be funny....

any ideas?

  • What about some kind of experience, like tickets to something or a gift card to a restaurant/B&B/massages, something along those lines?

  • honestly, i would just give them money.  I've never heard anyone complain about receiving cash.  i love beer (and wine!) but i am not sure how I'd feel about getting a giant bottle of beer as a wedding gift....

I totally agree - when in doubt, cash is my go to gift.

I third this. Truthfully, you really have no idea what their financial situation is and it really isn't for you to decide that they don't need cash. So, if your standard gift is cash, go for it. I think you are overthinking this.

  • I did a gift card to the Marriott for a couple I married earlier this year with a note that instructed them to go away for their first anniversary.  It was good at any Marriott location world wide.  It my case the couple would likely have to add to it to go away for more than one night, but even one night is fun...even if it is in your own city.

If you and your coworkers went together you could likely start them saving for their next vacation.  Just make sure that the GC is good in a LOT of places and that it doesn't expire.

  • Ditto hotel gift cards.  I have also done a wine basket with a gift card too.  I hate giving cash to my friends for gifts.
