Is it okay to Boo late?

We've been "Booed" for the first time. We are coming from an older neighborhood, so we weren't sure what was happening. Our neighbors were the victims of a driveby BB gun shooting a couple of weeks ago, and we have the kids next door, so DH was a little uppity when the doorbell rang Friday night and he opened it to find kids running from the house and an unidentified package on the porch.

Anyway, I don't have a printer hooked up at home, so I couldn't immediately reciprocate the Booing. The paper said we had one day... is that just an arbitrary timeline, or are we out of it now? Also, what happens if no one is left to Boo in our hood? There are only so many houses that are actually inhabited at this point!

  • One day??  I've never been boo'ed so I can't tell you what the appropriate etiquette is, but I can tell you the chances of me responding to it in 24 hours would be slim to none. Stick out tongue

  • you can still participate. I think the deadline is more to keep it moving through the neighborhood. If you really can't find any house left to boo then don't boo.

Right?! I thought that was a little aggressive!

I didn't know if we were like expected to take it outside the neighborhood? I don't know, the whole thing seems pointless if you ask me!

Maybe I'm a little anti social but I really hope I don't get boo'ed.  It doesn't sound enjoyable.  Stick out tongue

  • I have never even heard of this....off to google!  I grew up in a small town in Crawford County and our nearest neighbor was 2 miles away so I'm missing out on knowing any neighborhood traditions.

  • That's the dumb thing about it... it's like ToTing but with even less interaction. It's not like it brings you together as neighbors -- you don't even see the people who drop it off.
