The reason DH is back is because he's on medical leave. He found a lump on his neck in August and we received confirmation yesterday that he has thyroid cancer. It's very treatable but he will have to have his thyroid removed in November and undergo radiation treatment. He'll also have to be on medication for the rest of his life, which I think bothers him the most. It's a crappy situation but I'm trying to look on the bright side. I've got him home, hopefully this will get him to quit smoking for good, and it could have been much much worse. If he's got to have a form of cancer, I'm happy he's got one that is so treatable and with a very high survival rate.

Seriously, I've never been so happy for an approaching New Year. I am so over 2012.
Cancer is such an asssshole. I will keep you and your guy in my thoughts and I will wish for a very speedy treatment and recovery. Take care of yourself.

Hugs, NQ. I'm glad to hear it's treatable. Best wishes to your H on a speedy recovery.
