So since there are still a few of us lingering around and a few more lurking I decided to make Weekly Randoms Post instead of the daily. So feel free to random away
Re: Oct 8th Weekly Randoms
I finally got a Keurig last night. Just the small one. Meijer has a nice deal where you get a $20 GC and $20 mail-in rebate.
I am so excited for Halloween, I love dressing up my kid. Plus, she isn't old enough to eat the candy, so for at least another year, it is mine.
Thanks to pinterest, I dress so much better. Not that I've bought anything, just never thought of pairing certain items I already had together.

I have to agree. When I see it on pinterest I'm like aww that looks cute but when I try to put something together on my own it looks like a total fail.
I'm getting my hair cut tomorrow, I found a style, on pinterest, I want to try.
I saw that Meijer actually has a couple different tiered deals, the more expensive models you can get even more cash back in rebate and GC...it's almost like they're trying to give those suckers away for free!
I'm slightly bored at work and all I keep thinking about is wanting to go home and take a nap. Got body combat after work though, and then I need to edit some photos from my cousin's wedding.

There's got to be labor laws for treating your employees so poorly. I'd be looking into that and trying super hard to look for a new job, like spend every waking minute not at your current job looking for something else. Send out resumes to companies hiring for stuff you know nothing about, dropping off resumes to places you might like to work. Filling out applications like your life depends on it. Get out of the rut. Do something different.
Hey there ladies! I haven't had much time lately to be on the computer in general.
We were home to visit DH's family in WI this past weekend. Found out that my youngest BIL is in fact married - my SIL and I had our suspicions but DH and BIL wouldn't confirm it with their brother. Apparently my BIL and his new wife feel bad that they didn't tell anyone they got married. It's just kind of strange but we're happy for them. BIL told DH he was married by asking "Have you met my wife, Desirrae?". DH responded by saying "Have you met my wife Erin?" - as if it were no big deal to him. Brothers! So now we have a new niece - new SIL has a 3 1/2 year old from a previous relationship. She is very shy but she got along great with the other kids (all the cousin's ages are now 3 1/2, 2 1/2, 1 1/2, and 10 months). They plan to move from TX to WI once BIL's time is done with the army next October. Oh, family...
Hannah's cousins were nice enough to share their colds with her. She has been misserable all week - poor thing. I think her fever is finally gone today. Looking forward to getting back into our normal routine next week if she is feeling better.
It's Friday - yeah!!!!!!! Though I don't have anything planned this weekend. And payday isn't until Monday so that sucks for the weekend. Blah. Anyone have any plans for the weekend?
I spent my weekend re-upping my training for Childrens Disaster Services child care program. I definitely feel more prepared to go into a disaster situation now than I did when I trained 7 years ago. It still freaks the crap out of me though! This is going to places like New Orleans, post-Katrina, NYC, post 9-11, and things like that. There's just nothing easy about it even if you are there to play with kids & help them process their feelings.
In other news, I think we may have found a new church this morning! We'll give it another try, but since my DH asked if I liked it & actually seemed interested (he didn't grow up in a church & has never been a regular attendee), I figure that is a good sign.
Wow Zebe. How did you get involved in CDS program? Have you ever had to be sent out anywhere?
I am a member of the Church of the Brethren (which started & oversees this disaster response program) and a woman in my church has been a volunteer since I was young. Once I was done with college & started my "grown up life," I took the training. So far I have been on call a couple of times, but never been sent. Usually it is because I can't make the two week commitment that they prefer for long distance disasters. The closest I got to going was when the NATO & G8 were in Chicago and terrorist threats were coming in. I was on call to drive there if something happened. Thank goodness G8 was moved & the locals were able to keep demonstrations & violence to a minimum.
I did go to New Orleans for disaster response a few years after Katrina, but it was to rebuild homes rather than to do the child care. Even a few years later it was amazing how much of the neighborhood was just slabs of concrete where no one rebuilt.
