What do you think Outdoor/Indoor Rugs?

Everytime I see a rug I like it is an outdoor/indoor rug. I'm looking for something indoor and when I see outdoor online I'm thinking low quality, scratching, thin. What do you think? Any advice?

Re: What do you think Outdoor/Indoor Rugs?

  • We have a patterned one in our livingroom that we got for $199 at HomeGoods a few years back.  The area is high traffic and we have a dog.  No, it's not the coziest rug but it has held up amazingly well for the past 5-6 or so years and adds warmth to the room.  There are no stains to be seen, no areas that look worn from the high traffic and no frays from normal wear and tear.  We previously had a sisal rug and that was shredded and stained in only a few months and that is just as "un-cozy" as our indoor-outdoor rug.

I'd probably get another one if we were looking for a replacement.

  • We have an outdoor rug in our living room. We have a 3 year old and a LOT of company over. There are no stains on it, despite it having juice spilled on it about 200 times, there's no signs of wear, and it adds a lot of warmth to the room. I'm really happy with our decision.
