At our new property there is an electric pole that sits right next to our driveway. As it stands now the guy wires come over our driveway, and while we can get through, it will prevent the excavators and trucks from getting in.
We applied over 2 months ago to have the guy wire and/or pole removed. We've been passed around from person to person, but finally a month ago an engineer came out to draw up new plans to move the pole 40 feet to the left. It will still be on our property, but not as close to our drive way.
Now, a month and 20 phone calls later they finally came to do the work. Except they did it wrong! They put the new pole on the other side of the driveway. It looks like camp coucamonga as your driving into our property.
If it just looked dumb I'd suck it up, but 1. the guy wires are still going to be in our way and their shenanigans are preventing us from getting on the dig list. 2. with this set up, we can't have underground service to the house because it would have to cross under/through through a gas line and our water and sewage lines.
No wonder it takes forever to get work done through them. Of course they're behind if they end up doing everything twice because they don't follow the plans that the engineers draw up.
Re: So frustrated with electric company
I keep telling DH that I will never build a house again! Haha. It's just frustrating because the only thing left for us to get on the dig is list for the guy wire to be moved so we can put the actual driveway in. The gravel trucks can't get in right now. Our loan is set to close next week.
We have long outgrown our rental. We have so much stuff in our garage we can't get a car in it. And our driveway isn't long enough for 2 cars, so today I got a parking ticket for parking on the street!
Ha ha! Lots of people say they will never build again. I, on the other hand, would do it again, for sure! I know the frustrated feeling.
Just keep on them. And this time, you guys might want to be out there when they come to do the "fixing." Ugh, I'm sorry about the parking ticket. I can't imagine having two kids in a townhouse...only because I'm a collector (AKA hoarder), and I just can't seem to get rid of much.
I use the yard for lots of stuff, and we have two sheds on our property to store things...not to mention the garage storage.
I try to purge, but it never seems to be enough!
