Whiney Wednesday, anyone?

I'm so beyond frustrated with people that I work with, that I need to just vent. I don't know why I have to ask people THREE times to get me information to complete my projects. I even cc the head rep on the project with every email, but he ignores me, too.

What part of, " I can't finish the job and meet the deadline if you don't respond to me" don't these people get? It's beyond rude and it now will make my deadline day more hectic as I scramble to get everything into the documents, once I do get the information.

Grrrrrrrr.......

I'm also getting sick of the fundraising crap at school. This week, it was "here you can buy artwork, that your kid did, on dust-collecting chatskis (sp?) like this $6 magnet!" I know we go to parochial school, so it's inevitable. I have no problem collecting Box Tops, Labels for Education, donating time, etc. But to send home a FOLDER of different options to buy into, takes way more time to sift through than I have to devote. (Granted, they offer us the option to write out a check for $75 to waive it all.) I also have to do 4 shifts in the Cafeteria this year - or pay out $60 ($15 ea time) for them to have a sub come in and do the 3-hr shift for me. It's not fair on parents - working or not, but especially working. I already pay tuition, plus school taxes to my district (which my kid's school is not in, and there is a reason he is not in it).

And I need sleep, preferably in more than 90-minute increments before I wake up to either debilitating leg cramps or having to pee.

Is it 5pm Friday yet?!

Re: Whiney Wednesday, anyone?

  • I hear you on the fundraising!  DD brought home a fundraising paper from daycare.  they are these junky pony bead keychains for $3.00.  I don't want one...and I'm not going to ask anyone else to buy them.

ETA: My real whine is my electric company post below.

  • i hate fundraisers, and would be all over that paying the extra fee thing.  But I can't wait to get out of full time daycare costs... and into the public school system. Oh the things I could do with that extra money (stupid half day Kindergarten going to delay all of it being freed up next fall)

I want to whine about how Mo keeps using the dining room carpet as a toilet at night while we sleep. Dude is going to end up sleeping in his crate again.  There is nothing worse than having to take time to scrub out an ugly indoor/outdoor low pile turquoise carpet you would much rather just rip out. If you have to potty, wake me up and I will let you out! (Kev won't let me rip it up until I finish ripping up the vinyl floor I started a couple weeks ago... I am easily a third of the way through that project but the room is like 22 by 11 and that is a lot of floor to scrap up in my spare time)

  • We tried using our furnace for the first time this weekend and it wouldn't work. Had somebody come on Monday and said it just needed cleaned. He got it working but noticed another issue. I guess it's not an issue now but maybe possibly is dangerous at some point. But he didn't say we couldn't use the furnace at all but said to limit use. But said we should replace the part or buy new furnace. With part and labor it's like half the cost of a new furnace.

we just don't know if this is truly a potential problem or we are being scammed. Looking online it seems like there is info to back up both! I hate this!! I wish we had somebody we trusted who could tell us. We are trying to get a 2nd opinion. I really do not want to replace our furnace!!!

oh and 2 weeks ago we realized our upstairs toilet was causing a leak and now we have a hole in our kitchen ceiling (minor at least). Ugh!!!

dd and I are getting ours today. Some years they hurt forever and some not at all. Last year I swear she didn't do it right because I had no pain but it was nice to not have a sore arm!!

I've been getting them for years & they're always a bit sore, but this is definitely the worst!  I actually had to break down & take tylenol the first night just so I could fall asleep, it was throbbing.  I felt like such a baby whining about it all day, but wow....painful!  I hope yours isn't sore!!

  • I'm so annoyed with our project manager for our house. It is impossible to get him moving on things. There are things that he agreed to correct for us when we did our final walk through at the end of Aug, and they were brought up again a couple of weeks ago at our 30 day review and they are still not fixed. He's around all of the time working on other houses, so it's not like he's on vacation or anything. He just ignores us. We have white stuff (looks like paint to me, but he says it's mortar) all over the brick on the front of the house and it looks terrible. He sent them out to power wash it on Monday and it did nothing, and I know he's seen it but he's made no attempt to address it again. He was also supposed to have people coming to touch up some drywall and repaint our door yesterday, so we left the alarm off and gave him our garage code and they never came. He straight out told me he needs a 10 on our review of his work, and I'm happy to give him one, but not until this stuff is fixed once and for all. GRRR.

I'm also annoyed with DH and his inability to say no to anyone but me.

I had a hard time with it last year, but this year wasn't bad at all for me! I got it at the dr's office rather than the pharmacy, so I thought maybe it was just a more skilled nurse? I don't know how much that matters.

i think it matters some but I think the reason it hurts is just because it is going into the muscle. I was convinced the lady last year didn't get it in the muscle because I had no pain! But maybe skill can make it hurt less I don't know.

they also have a new smaller and thinner needle, I think it was just out last year but should be used more this year. Supposed to hurt less but not sure if you can find out who is using it. I want to say one pharmacy like CVS was advertising using it. So they could have used that on you last year...I was also wondering if that's what was used on me last year since it didn't hurt. But figure they would advertise using it but who knows.

I would make all of that known on your survey!

I can't help with the husband thing.  I have the same kind.

call and text everyday till you get a response.  Then send an email with his boss cc'd.  then walk down to the model and cause a scene with the sales girl in front of prospective buyers.  any and all of these combos have worked for mike and i :)

  • It's just the perfect storm b/c they sold 10 houses the month after ours, and all are just about to close so I guess they're crazy. And our sales rep is on maternity leave, so she can't push stuff through. I feel bad b/c our PM is a very nice guy, but he is just on his own schedule and nothing we do gets him moving. He actually told us during our 30 day that he needs 10s from everyone the rest of this year to get his bonus and "Christmas with four kids sure is a lot easier with that bonus." I don't want to take that away from his family, so I'm happy to give him a 10, but there are some issues here that I'm just not willing to ignore, you know?!

That was completely unprofessional of him and should have ZERO impact on your survey ratings.  If he wants a bonus and needs 10 to get it, then he should be working for it.  He should be addressing your issues and pushing things through and making you a priority.

His score is what he EARNS not what he GUILTS his clients into.

we were in the same boat - we closed on June 28th which was 2 days before the $6000 Obama credit in 2010 so they were closing 15-20 houses when we closed.  Regardless, it's not your problem that they don't have the manpower to do what they say they are going to do.  You are your only advocate so I wouldn't shut up until you get results.  Signed,  Pushy/Agressive Stranger on the Internet :)

    I totally agree with this.

  • Thanks for the pep talk guys! I actually got a call from him after I posted (ironic), so we'll see where it goes. I want to be more forceful, but I've heard from neighbors that he doesn't respond well to that so I'm still trying the nice route for now. And holding out on completing the survey, just in case!
