So my husband and I will be starting to look for a house next year, but right now, we have some storage issues. We're starting to look at a freestanding kind of cabinet-thing (curio??) to help us out. Anyhow, after looking and almost buying something at IKEA, we decided to look for something a bit nicer that would make the transition to a house.
Anyway, in thinking along those lines, that forces us to start thinking now about what kind of style we would like to have in our home. Do you guys have any suggestions as to publications or websites that could help us determine the kind of path we want to go down?
Re: Some advice?
One website with thousands of photos to ponder is: www.houzz.com
This is a fab site to get inspiration from....
HOWEVER: I would cation that if you havnt started looking at houses, don't buy furntature that you LOVE and think will be perfect for your house, because lets be honest, no one gets thier dream house unless they are billionaires...You don't know what your house is going to look like yet, how many rooms, how informal or formal the flow feels...most people have to give up something on thier wishlist to get a house that works for them in thier price range.
Buy something practical that could fit into lots of different feels if you are set on spending more money on getting something that will "look good" in a hypothetical house. (Personally Id save the money if you plan to buy reletively soon and buy furnature then.)

omg, this website is like crack!
Right now I am all about pinterest. My husband and I are on the process of buying a home. I have gotten so many ideas from pinterest. You either love or hate pinterest. I LOVE it. HGTV.com is another nice website for inspiration. Even the shows on tv give you good ideas.
