Where to have a surprise party?

I am trying to plan my Dad's 60th bday party and I am looking for a "fun" restaurant in the Montco/Bucks area. We want to go somewhere with a fun atmosphere and of course good food and not too pricey. Maybe a place with music that is lively and not just a typical sit down place. TIA!

Re: Where to have a surprise party?

  • The only place I can think of is Las Margaritas in Southampton.

  • http://katieodonnells.com/ it's in northeast Philly, across the street from Bucks county

  • Maybe it's because Jess mentioned margaritas, but my baby shower was at Cantina Feliz in Fort Washington. Very reasonably priced, excellent food. No live music but fun atmosphere.

I've been to a few surprise parties at PJ Whelihan's in Blue Bell (including one I threw there). Live music all the time.

Baby brain - I'm sure I've got more recs. I'll keep thinking.

  • I know you said bucks/montco but what about Finnigan's Wake (the 3rd floor has a nice room) in Philly, or you could do Paddy Whacks in NE Philly. Has a private room downstairs and I've seen a DJ down there as well. It's a small room, though, so if you have more than 40 people, it would be a bit squishy. They are super cheap, too.

For Bucks, I'd suggest The Buck Hotel. They have a live band just about every weekend. You could have the party in one of the rooms and then the after party could spill over into the bar/dance area. There is also Kenny's Spirited Eatery but I can't remember if they have a private room. It's been a while. You could also look into Mike's York Street Bar & Grill. I know they do have a private room.

Or one of the brewery's like Triumph? I almost had DH's 30th surprise party there.

    hmmmmmmmmm what else...

  • May I also suggest to you Michael's Cougar Club/Wrinkle Ranch... or um...Michael's Cafe and Night Club in Bensalem?

This one was a joke. Kinda.
