Hah, I love dates like this! Can't wait for December's 12/12/12.
Confession: My grandmother, try as she might, has not fully accepted that gay people can live normal lives, and this really really irks me. My brother is gay. He didn't come out until he was in a serious relationship and they were about to move in together, and his SO insisted on meeting his family. My mom and grandmother were over last weekend and the topic of my bro having kids came up (my mom said she got my brother's SO a book called "Does this baby make me look straight?" for his birthday and I told her it was a weird gift). I told my mother not to press the issue with my bro, since we don't know his feelings on kids and adoption/surrogacy can be expensive and challenging even if they want them. My grandmother's response was that they shouldn't even consider kids because of "their situation." As if that wasn't bad enough... then she says that no one would give them a white baby unless it had problems and they'd have to get a minority baby and that would make everything that much worse.
I love her, and I love that she has welcomed my brother's SO into the family (as much as she will pre-marriage - she keeps her distance with him the same way she did with my DH when we were dating). But her comments were offensive to me. I hope she never relays that message to either of them.

Good thoughts - to all who need them. To a very dear friend who is being tested for lupus, and to one of my BFFs that she get answers today to something crazy and be able to move forward one way or another.
Confession: we have plans on sunday and i'm so fried at this point I hope it falls through. The couple we originally planned it with may not make it, but it got expanded to other people from J's work and I'm just not in the mood to be "on" right now. Down week, AF arriving, tired, cranky, and sneezing again doesn't inspire me to be the best "boss's wife hostess" right now. *sigh*
Confession: I'm so glad I'm as open and honest as i can be on my blog. The responses i got from yesterday's post surrounded me in love and it was wonderful.
Confession: i'm scared to be in my own house. We have yellow jackets. I've killed 7 today alone and it's barely 11am. I'm heading out to do one more walk around the property in search of a nest then the LL is getting an earful. Is this for him to pay for? It seems unfair I should have to pay for this since it's not my fault, right? if I have to pay we're screwed.

Update: FOUND the damn hive/nest, I think. Behind the freakin shingles, so you know that will be easy to deal with. But explains how they are getting into the living room, because they can probably access the holes that the radiator pipes run through and such.
I've killed 14 bees today, and it's not even noon. They are very slow given the weather, so I want to treat the hive tonight and tomorrow night before the warmer weather returns Sunday.

Confession: I had a Big Mac for lunch today. I blame Michele for getting that thought in my head on Monday. That, and the fact that we ended up doing a last-minute lunch at my Mom's, and I hadn't packed for it. I am soooooo eating veggies for supper tonight.

Confession: I don't know where I'm going to store all of this cookie dough that Shannon is selling for her preschool. In the short-term, at least... She's only gotten 5 orders so far, and she's already sold 12 tubs of frozen cookie dough. And, there are still people (myself included) who will be placing orders and haven't yet! 5 of the cookie dough tubs are going to my cousin in NH, who I won't even see until Christmastime. Going to need to use up a bunch of stuff in my freezer over the next few weeks to make room for it all!
Good Thoughts: To all who need them. There seems to be so much going on and affecting my friends and family right now. They're all in my prayers.
