whiny wednesday

Anyone have any they want to get out? Mine:

The past few days have seriously made me question my working mom of two status. Both kids have been sniffly, cranky, and DS1 has been really tantrum-prone. Sleep has been bad in our house, and guess what? when either kid wakes up, they want me, not DH. DH feels bad that I am up half the night but doesn't know what to do except help out more in other areas. I have been really late for work, have a pile of mail a mile high I need to go through, and can't seem to get the smallest task done around the house like hang up blinds in the bathroom. We have had a lovely sheet covering the window since we got our new windows in two weeks ago.

I continue to have this dream in my head of getting to some sort of place where I could work part time so I have more time to spend with the kids, but I can't see how that is going to happen, especially since getting out of our house is priority #1 and I need every dime I earn to help make that happen. And speaking of, we had yet ANOTHER trashy renter move into our block. Angry

  • Mine are along the same lines as Remy's:

DD2 is still not sleeping through the night. I wouldn't even care if she was up once a night but some nights it's three or four times. I know I'm probably spoiling her by letting her nurse when she gets up, but since she doesn't get bm while I'm at work, I feel bad putting a stop to it.

We are trying to move in around 18 months and it is stressing me out. We need to do some things to our house to rent it out which costs money and also need to save money for a downpayment. I sit at my desk and just stress about it all.

  • Mine are not :)

I have to write a research paper on First Generation students and it's been the hardest paper to write!! I have all the research, I just can't put it all together :(

I'm meeting with the woman that has been renting my condo for the last 3 years for a move out inspection and I'm so anxious about it. She is such a bully and I need to make sure I hold my ground!  She has already demanded her full deposit back and I went there the other night and she won't be getting it! Major scratches in my new wood floors!!!  Ugghhhh, why can't someone else do it!!

Didn't you say she's less of a bully in person? Hopefully that will be the case when you meet her for the inspection!! Good luck!

Wow you sound like me. We are in a similar boat, that is for sure! I will keep my fingers crossed for you guys that you are able to move when you want to, I know you want to get out of there too.

  • I know I have no business complaining about this, but I'm tired of having no kitchen. I can't wait to get it back. And as of yesterday we also have part of a new floor that we technically aren't allowed to walk on, with more to be installed today. Too bad it's right inside the front door and the stairs - kind of hard to avoid.

  • My whine is mainly house related too. Our realtor called yesterday just wanted to give us a heads up on FHA rates as low as 3.25%. I would love to find a new house, but we have to sell our current TH and I'm worried about us finding something in our area. I love Harford County and I really want to stay, but we can't afford a SFH and daycare in this area, unless we had help from family. And at the moment, my family is not willing to help. So our plan is to wait it out.

Yesterday I looked at our budget and how much I'm making and it makes me want to cry. My entire paycheck goes to daycare and other expenses. Then we get our comcast bill for the month and I noticed they jacked up our prices again. Now they are charging us a monthly fee on the modem for our phone. Two weeks ago Verizon starting digging in our neighborhood and it's been confirmed that FIOS is coming. I can't wait until we have some competition in this area. I'm sick of the increasing prices!!

Word is that my company is signing the contract with one of two companies by the end of December. I really like to know what's going to happen with my job. Maybe getting laid off will be a blessing, but I'm not holding out much hope. So as you can see all of this is stressing me out! Sorry for the randomness of my post.

  •  Every time I think we're getting ahead financially, something pops up.  I know we are in a much, much better place than last year but it still sucks.  My parents were going to give us a weekend getaway for our anniversary this weekend but I told them we needed the cash instead.  I'm really disappointed because I was looking forward to a weekend in Chicago.

I'm really tired today.  DH and I stayed up late watching YouTube videos lol

  • I have a house-related whine, too. Our house is just too small. With DH working from home and now #2 on the way, we're busting at the seams already and this is just going to be crazy. DH is moving his office to the basement but I just foresee a nightmare with noise level and stuff once we've got two kids in here.(There is no door to the basement so I imagine the noise will easily travel down to where his desk will be. Plus, our floors squeak like no other and it makes it so hard to anything while B is sleeping. The new baby's room is right next to the living room and kitchen so I pray this one is a deep sleeper or I'm in trouble. We're not in a position to move right now but I'm terrified of staying. I really need to start playing Mega Millions...

  • I have no nice work clothes. Today I had to wear an old suit for an event and I am popping out of it. I'm afraid to eat lunch.

I've really been in a lazy slump. All I want to do is snuggle up on our new couch and read or watch tv.

I'm really judgmental that my SIL is having a baby shower for her 2nd child.  She is also on her 2nd marriage and I just counted that in all this will be her SIXTH shower counting all of her previous bridal and baby showers. She still has everything from her first child and she registered for over 50 items. I am very thankful that I will be out of town when this happens so I don't even have to make up an excuse not to go.

I hear ya'. My rant on this would belong on an "unpopular opinions" thread. My "sister in law" (they're not married, but have multiple kids together, so for ease, that's what I call her) is having another baby in December. It's her second with my BIL and third overall (and he has three other kids from another woman). They keep getting pregnant "by accident," but she doesn't have a job (not because they have the luxury of her being a SAHM, but because she got fired from her job at a gas station) and live with her mom. I just think it's irresponsible.

At this point, I don't know if she's having a baby shower, but I don't know how I'll react if she does. Normally I'm OK with multiple showers, but I think it's been enough. She's having another girl, our neice is just barely 2 years old, so she has a lot of stuff.

  • My maternity leave is quickly coming to an end and I don't want to go back :( I've enjoyed these last 4 months so much and it makes me really sad to think I'm going to miss some of the next milestones while I'm at work. We aren't really in a position for me to stay home because we want to buy a house in about 12-18 months so I understand the logic with my return to work but I don't like it.

  • Mine is money related. DH needs to knock off his wanting to spend our money on things he thinks we need. He needs to learn the difference between needing and wanting. He whines too much, also. Sometimes I just want to glitter punch him.

That is exactly what caused us to make the decision to stay home.

My whine is that my knee hurts so freaking much!!!
