Anyone have a great soup recipe?

We're having the in-laws over for dinner on Sunday.  I have a bunch of chicken broth frozen, so I'd like to make a soup.  Problem is... I've never made soup before, other than tomato soup or chili!  Anyone have a recipe that they love and that isn't too complicated?  Thanks!

Re: Anyone have a great soup recipe?

  • Hmmmm. what about an italian wedding style soup? lots of recipes for that.

Last weekend we made sausage and sauerkraut soup, but that used beef broth.

    chicken & dumplings?

did you look at Pam's site? There's so many yummy soup recipes there!

  • Italian wedding style would be great - that is the only soup that DH will eat!  The only part I hate is all those tiny meatballs.  But, I can deal, because it's sounding really good right about now!  And you just reminded me that I did make an italian wedding soup once a long time ago, so I'm not a soup virgin after all.  Thanks Michele!  I'll check out allrecipes.com and Pam's site for some recipe ideas!
  • no problem. Now I want some too!!!!

you can certainly switch to regular meatballs if you dont like ground turkey.

  • Thanks, brina!  I printed the skinny taste one but plan to make a few changes that I found in another recipe (add carrots, garlic, and celery).  Yum!
