Need a Rec for a Chicago Hotel

DH and I are going to Chicago for the weekend in Nov. for a romantic getaway for our 10th anniversary. I'm looking for a hotel rec. I want to stay in the 200-250.00 per night price range. We want to be in a good location to do things such as going to the museums, restaurants, shopping, holiday lights etc. Thanks in advance.

Re: Need a Rec for a Chicago Hotel

  • Check out the Courtyard Marriott on East Ontario!  It's a block off of Michigan Avenue and some of the best shopping!  It's also walking distance to Navy Pier and the Hancock Building (which I recommend at least getting drinks on the 96th floor - great views of the city!)
    Anniversary

  • I love the Kimpton hotels. I've stayed at 3 out of the 4 in Chicago with Hotel Palomar being my favorite.
  • I stayed at the Westin River North - loved it.  heart of everything and directly on the river

beds are heavenly mattresses - amaaaaazing  i actually bought the bed in our new house because of that hotel

they actually had the best in house deep dish pizza around and great hotel bar to start off at

i loved it, i couldn't ask for a better place in Chicago.  Did so much and it was all super close and reasonably priced

  • The James Hotel is really nice. Steps off of Michigan Ave yet still kind of serene when in the rooms.
  • We've stayed at the Palmer House Hilton twice in the last two years & would def recommend it.
  • I enjoy the Swissotel.

  • You may have already gone, but...

It's going to sound funny, but the Acme Hotel Co was nice and included breakfast, a really good one! It's a few steps from Mag Mile, Navy Pier and Garrett's popcorn, mmmm...

Price was 179/night and I would request a higher floor, to avoid the downtown noise.  Have fun!
