So I have never made beef stew and am having a hard time sorting through the different ways to make it. I want to use my crock pot for one but have no idea where to start with this. Anyone have a good receipe for a crock pot beef stew?
Re: Beef Stew
Yes! I do! Have you ever heard of McCormick's seasoning packs? That's how I make mine most of the time. The recipe is on the back.
But if you are feeling more inventive--I'm trying this recipe next week:

I think this is the first recipe I used when I started making Beef Stew: http://www.kraftrecipes.com/recipes/easy-slow-cooker-beef-stew-108653.aspx
Now I've started experimenting more with different flavors (red wine, BBQ sauce, etc.). I did try the 2 packet recipe on Pinterest and didn't much care for it. I'm still looking for the perfect recipe, so it can take some time!
Mine is so easy...
I brown the meat on the stove top first, just to help seal in some of the juice. Then I put the meat only into the cooker with burgundy wine and let that cook on low for about 5 hours and then throw in vegies and cook on high for another 4 hours or so.
Super easy and super yummy! I've also used the packets that you get at the grocery store and those are really tasty too.
