Re: Monday Madness
Vacations!
I really want to go on a cheap but fun vacation with H this winter or spring, before we start TTC, but don't want to spend too much!
Where are some of your favorite places to vacation? Can be in/out of the US
I LOVE this topic! H and I are going on a vacation to Disneyland December 8-15 I can't freaking wait!!
Travelling and vacationing is one of my favorite things to do. I moved to a decently small city when I met H, and I told him i'd be fine living here but we had to vacation and travel!
I love going to the Rocky Mountains and going skiing, that's a great vacay! I've also been to Europe twice and want to go back with H at some point. Would LOVE to go to London with him.
H's dad also has land in the northern part of our province, and we go "camping" up there a couple times a year. It's so much fun!
This has been a hot topic for H and I lately! H has 2 weeks of mandatory vacation in December, so we wanted to plan a trip somewhere.
We were going to go to Orlando, FL and visit Disney and Universal. We've gone a few times before and love it! Then we talked about maybe visiting California instead since we've never been. But we recently decided we want to start looking for a house soon. So now we're doing a 'stay-cation' and going to a nearby casino/hotel for a couple nights so we don't spend as much money and can save a bit more for a house.
We love going to NYC. I don't really consider it a vacation though since it's only an hour train ride away for me, and I can go anytime I want really. But if you've never been, then it's definitely a great place to visit, especially around the holidays. It's actually where H proposed and where I went for my bachelorette
Disney and Ireland we trying to hit up this year and the ttc time!
Favorite places I been : Pensacola Florida key west Florida Boston and top favorite San Diego!
Our next vacation will be to France for the week of Thanksgiving to visit MIL. She is a five hour train ride from Paris, so we'll spend a day or so in Paris alone before going to see her in the little village she lives in. I'm very excited, I just wish I could eat the French cheese and drink the wine.
I'm hoping our first big vacation after the baby will be Vancouver. Neither DH or I have been and I've only heard good things. But, in all honesty, I'm sure it won't be for at least a year and a half.
Some of my favorite places to vacation are Maine, LA, Chicago. I also loved Aruba where we went for our honeymoon. Really, I like anywhere... I love to travel and explore new places.
H and I are going on a must deserved and needed cruise next month. H has never been and I have been dying to take him.
We like weekend getaways more than anything. Bed and breakfasts are great. We love Dallas and Destin,Florida. Also Nashville is wonderful and Memphis in TN. In the winter/fall time we usually like more scenic places like a cabin in the moutains or somewhere we can see snow since we don't get any where we live.
H & I are actually headed on our annual cheap vacation this weekend! We stay at this resort motel in Maine and it's $99 for 3 nights so we really can't beat it! We'll stop in Boston on our way up and back, sometimes we can catch lunch with a friend. Then we play the rest by ear, except for getting lobster! We HAVE to have lobster!!
We're also hoping to go to Nantucket for our 1 year anniversary! And I'm from RI so I think the coast and Block Island are fantastic! I'd love to go to the Carolinas one day.
When we were planning our honeymoon I planned a trip to Ireland that we never took as we ended up going to Jamaica, so I'd love to do that! I think we figured it would be around $3k for a week since Spring is the off season there.
I love planning vacations but I'm more for the type of vacation where you get out and do/see things. Yellowstone was one of my favorite places to visit... We actually did a trip from Vegas, to a campground in Nevada, to Yellowstone, to Mount Rushmore, to Chicago and then home (Michigan). It was such a good trip and there was so much to see and do.
I love doing near home vacations because there are so many options in Northern Michigan. Traverse City is an absolutely beautiful area with so much from restaurants, entertainment, shopping, winerys and incredible views that there is always something for someone to fall in love with. I also love traveling to the Upper Peninsula! If you are more into the woodsy-camping scene these is the place to go. So many great parks and hiking trails that you could spend days exploring all the beaches and waterfalls. If anyone is ever planning something different for their vacation let me know! So many amazing options in Northern Michigan
H and I have been planning to do some traveling around the US before we talk baby. Our current places to visit include: Niagra Falls (NY), Bar Harbor (ME), Vegas (H's never been), Salem (MA), Grand Canyon plus more that I can't think of right now. I know they are all really touristy spots and I'm OK with that
