So, if you saved your top later, have any of you tried your wedding cake? I picked mine up from my parents (they were storing it in their extra freezer) and put it in ours. I'm curious what you guys thought, if it was any good?

Our venue put our top layer in a box for us. We ate some the day after the wedding with ice cream and then threw out the rest :P
We were living with H's family after the wedding so we didn't have any freezer space plus we didn't know where we'd end up once we moved out. Good thing because I don't think it would've made it from PA to FL okay.
I had it in the fridge 2 days before our anniversary and it was all thawed out by then.
My mom is taking the cake out of her freezer Friday afternoon/evening, and we'll eat it on Monday!

Ours was okay. Not amazing, but not awful. I put it in the fridge the night before then removed the foil and cling wrap in the morning before work. I left it on the counter to thaw while we were at work.
We each only had one slice and the rest is still in the fridge. It breaks my heart to throw it away, but I'm sure it's done!
I'll let you know after the 29th
We wrapped it in foil (and maybe saran wrap...the venue did it for us) and put it in 2 ziplocs.
So did ours...we picked it up yesterday to eat today and it is beautiful...looks just like our real top layer did...and it says Happy 1st Anniversary....can't wait to dig in after our dinner!
Our wedding was the day of that snow storm, too. We ended up having the reception on Sunday afternoon and then going home, packing, and going to the airport on Monday for our honeymoon. We didn't get a chance to wrap it so we ate what we could and tossed the rest in the freezer (but since it wasn't wrapped well, we tossed it).
Today, we went to the bakery where our cake was from and ordered their smallest cake size for just the two of us. It's delicious
