Delaying TTC :(
Hi ladies,
As some of you know I was laid off in July and no job yet. I interviewed for a great job this week and got called back for a 2nd interview next, which I am super excited about. DH and I planned to start TTC in Sept but because of my job situation we have to wait. If by chance I get this job, I would need to wait until Feb or March before getting pregnant because I would need to be there for a year to qualify for FMLA leave. I've been so excited and now am bummed about not TTC yet. I know that it could take several months but we dont want to start now and then I get pregnant right away (most of my friends got pregnant the first cycle).
My mom on top of that is giving me a guilt trip for the delay in baby. I'm their only child so they are super excited but I was telling her that we need to be responsible in terms of cost for a baby.

It's hard now but at least you know you're doing the right thing.
I'm sure your parents are just disappointed, like you. They too will come around and know thatyou made the right decision.
Just remember you are doing the smart thing. It might hard to delay but in the end it is better for your financial situation. If it were me I would be having a talk with my mom about not needing added pressure.
As for friends getting pregnant first cycle, yes that can definitely happen, but for most people it doesn't, especially if you just come off BC.

Thanks ladies! The job is in the reference check/background check portion, but I have 2 other prospects where the phone interviews also went well. I'm being optimistic! Happy Halloween!
