Aliens Attacking

So apparently at 11:30 Monday night the city I live in along with several others felt what facebook people claim as the end of the world. You could not only hear but feel a very loud boom followed by "earthquake" type trembles. There was speculations on what it was. Everything from a meteorite to an earthquake to aliens attacking and yes I really just said aliens.

Anyways apparently it was just explosives being set off at a nearby ammunition plant. Granted we have an Air Force Base in town that has more weapons and explosives than you can imagine. We have all kinds of plants in town and this one in a nearby city. They still have no idea what set it off or caused it.

But I really love how people come up with the craziest stories. With all the things around here my first thought would never be aliens attacking! At least the meteorite makes sense since the National Weather Service actually picked up something from it on their radar.

Anyways just thought I would share in the crazy stories with you ladies! Hope you get a good laugh.

Re: Aliens Attacking

  • That is a good laugh! I myself am awaiting the zombie apocalypse :)

There was an earthquake here last night. It started in Maine and was felt all the way to Connecticut. I was in a car, so I never felt it. But when I got home and went onto FB, everyone was like "wow! did you feel that?!" "earthquake!" On one side it's pretty humerous. On another, I get why people were freaked. We almost never get them. But the eastcoast is on a big fault line, so I wouldn't be surprised if we got a bigger one. And if we do, Boston will pretty much crumble.

Me too!! I was driving and didn't feel anything. Then it was all over the radio and everyone was posting about it on FB. So crazy!!!

  • In regards to the ME earthquake, I saw this this morning and thought it was pretty funny.

It made me laugh how people were freaking out. H & I are headed to ME this weekend and I got a message from a friend telling me to be safe. I'm not even there yet! I think it's funny how people forget that even though we live in New England we still get small earthquakes and tornadoes.
