I'm worried about the grass!

I think I mentioned here we got our lawn redone and we had all new topsoil put down with hydroseeding. Well now our lawn is pretty much dirt with a bunch of seeds waiting to grow and I know its only been barely a week but I am so paranoid it wont grow. The last thing I want is to go a winter without any lawn. Our dogs feet get SO dirty when they go outside and even thought we wash their feet every time (which is a pain in the tush) they still manage to drag the dirt everywhere in the house. I would walk them but with Annabelle its even more of a pain to walk them 5x a day.

Grow grass, grow!!!

Re: I'm worried about the grass!

  • It will grow. Just keep doing what your doing and it will grow. Now that you dont have to worry about the sun scorching it, I dont think you will have a problem. We have had plenty of rain and you are watering it everyday. Right now is when grass is starting to look the best.
  • I actually enjoy watering it every day ha ha After being in the house with Annabelle all day is so refreshing to be outside for an hour in peace just watering the lawn.

  • Ben and I had to basically reseed our entire backyard one year.  The day after we put the seed/straw down it downpoured and I really thought that we had just done all that work for nothing.  I didn't see any grass for quite some time and then one day it just appeared, like not sprouts but lots of grass. and now its super plush.  so it will come just keep tending to it:)

  • From what I've seen around our neighborhood, it does seem like it just comes up out of nowhere all of a sudden.
  • Did the lawn people give any sort of indication as to when you can expect to see growth?
    my read shelf:
B's book recommendations, liked quotes, book clubs, book trivia, book lists (read shelf)
  • The guy said that germination usually starts within 10-14 days so I know it hasnt even been that. I'm just freaking out before I have to, thats all. Fingers crossed especially since we have some really nice weather coming up the next few days.
