OK, guys, let them loose!
This morning, I had to go to the MVA to get my tags renewed. I also had to update the name on the title because I got married since I last registered the car.
Over the summer, the MVA in Salisbury (on the Shore, I used to live there) mailed me saying that I had an unpaid parking ticket ... from 2010! And that I had to pay it before I could renew my tags. So I did, and I made them mail me a receipt, but no one said that *I* had to provide proof of paying it. So I show up this morning and they tell me there's a lien on my account from this ticket and that there's an administrative fee of $30 for taking so long to pay it. The ticket was only $35. So we had to call the Salisbury MVA and wait for them to fax it over. I should have been in and out of the MVA in less than 30 minutes but of course it took more than an hour.
It was also a PITA to change the name on the title. That's why I've been married for a year and a half and only about half of my "things" (credit cards, titles, deeds, etc.) have been changed. It's always SUCH a hassle.

Vent: I made the mistake of starting to send work emails at 5:30 - thus alerting the powers that be that I was awake and immediately getting looped into conference calls that were happening in the UK. It's now after 10 and I'm off the phone for the first time and still waiting for a gap in to do's long enough to get myself from here to the office.
And DS is under the weather - so our woe-is-me selves were lying here covered in Vicks the whole damned time until mimi got here to take over with him. I swear this kid deserves a medal for patience.

I don't think you're out of line. I'd be pissed, too! Is your trash removal paid for by the HOA or do you guys have to pay a separate bill?
It's part of our HOA fee. Its just a matter of principle to me. Don't touch my sh*t, man!
DH is sick which is really crappy timing. We are supposed to be painting our living room this weekend, but there is still so much to do to get ready. I only got so much done by myself yesterday and I'm sure it'll be the same tonight. Also, I hate when he's sick. It's worse than when DS is sick, baby-wise.
I love my new kitchen! Love love! But I have spent a crap ton at BB&B and Amazon this week buying organizational stuff.

Oh ITA! I asked because we had a neighbor in our old neighborhood in Abingdon stick their trash in with our stuff because they were too cheap to pay for trash removal so they thought they'd just add to ours and we wouldn't notice. Lazy a$$es!
Whenever we would paint our old apartment, I would always get a bad cold afterwards. When we got our house, I would make myself wear those masks every time I painted and I never got sick. He might want to try that after he's better when he goes to paint.
Oh helllll no, that would make me irate! lol.
I'm sure all the work in our house isn't helping. He started feeling bad the very first day they started working in our house. A mask is a good idea!

I am SO READY for DH to be home. He has be in NJ since last Wednesday. DD got sick on Friday (stomach flu) and was ill on Saturday as well. I was sick Sunday and Monday. I still don't think that I am completely recovered. I am absolutely exhausted, not hungry and every time I eat I feel sick (except for bananas, crackers, applesauce and m&m's), and very moody. If I didn't know any better, I would swear I was pregnant.
My mom has been at my house visiting. Seeing her and her health issues make me sad, frustrated and angry. (She is 69, but uses a walker and has mobility and balance issues along with diabetes and MS). I don't know how much of her ailments are due to natural progression of her diseases and how much is due to her lack of will/ability to take care of herself - check her sugar, take her meds on time, etc. She has been at my house for a week and a half. While it's been nice to have her around, I'll also be slightly relieved when she leaves. I don't think she is completely with it mentally.
DD has been waking up in the middle of the night asking for "foo, foo" (food). Yet, she doesn't want to eat at dinner time (and sometimes at breakfast) and she doesn't want to eat what I give her, with the exception of mac n' cheese. I'm not sure where to draw the line between putting my foot down and just letting her eat Ritz crackers all night. It's driving me crazy.
Guess I had more vents/rants than I thought...
10 days until my next marathon!!!!
I'm so nervous this time around because I told DH that if I didn't do this one in under 4 hours I was going to stop doing them until after we have kids. But now with our potential baby plans in two years (we're planners people!) it only makes sense to keep running marathons now!
I'm just nervous. My training runs have been going really well and my last 20 miler was awesome. All of my times are so close to what they need to be in order to conceivable run a sub-4 hour time, but none of that matters. I just need to suck up whatever life throws at me next Sunday and do this thing.
OMG!! what is her problem? I am sorry.....
She is psycho!!! I get a threatening email at least once a day regarding how these deep scratches in "my cheap" pergo flooring is wear and tear and that the chunk of wood she took out of the door frame is also wear and tear and that Maryland laws protect renters..... I'm just so annoyed right now, I can't even begin to tell you all!
My mother is crazy. They flew in Friday night and since DH and I were out celebrating our anniversary, we didn't see them. We saw them briefly on Saturday at a joint dinner with BILs family. We saw them in passing for about 10 minutes on Sunday. I woke up Monday morning and they were gone. As in left town. I texted my mom and said "I didn't know you were leaving, why didn't you say anything?" No response. My sister and I each got three phone calls from our dad yesterday saying how disappointed he was in us that we "forgot" Mom's birthday. Ummm, we didn't forget! We had cards and presents for her, expecting to take her to dinner Monday or Tuesday night. They left town without telling us! Her birthday was October 3rd and we had spoken to her then, wishing her a happy birthday and telling her we'd celebrate when they came up. So Mom is pissed that we didn't acknowledge her birthday enough. But when her mom (my grandmother) sent her a card, she got pissed and told my grandmother not to waste her money in the future because she doesn't want to celebrate her birthday anymore because she's old. So it's a lose lose situation. This might not sound that bad but it's just one example.
Jaime - I'm sorry your going through that. What a horrible tenant!!!
