Wife Chop

Yesterday at work, I got the wife chop! I wasn't going to go real short with it but I decided that if I was going to cut it, I should at least donate it to Locks of Love which requires a minimum of 10 inches for a donation. Anyways, I love my hair now and I'm curious if anyone else has done the wife chop since getting married.

Re: Wife Chop

  • I haven't actually I have done the opposite mine has grown several inches. I cut mine off about a year before the wedding and I hated the way it looked. I plan to let mine keep growing.

I want to see your new look though!! Post pictures!!

  • I did it! I took a ton off. It was fun, but I'm glad it is growing back out...I missed being able to put it back.
  • Sort of. I've had a pixie cut for ages, and I let it grow out for the wedding. It didn't get very long at all (maybe the length of Kris Jenner's hair), but long enough to curl it a little. I had gotten a cut the day before the wedding so it would be fresh and the stylist would know what to do with it the next day. I actually was not impressed with the way she cut it (it wasn't what I had asked for), so I cut it two weeks later back to a pixie. She kept saying to me how good she was, etc. Well, I would never go back to her.
  • I don't have the face for short hair...lol

If anything I'd cut it a bit to where it touches my shoulders, but thats as short as I'll ever go....

  • Yup all gone I love it! I'm not made to take care of long hair! Haha

  • I had pretty long hair for years, and I finally cut it this summer! I didn't have quite enough to donate, so I was pretty bummed about that. But, after the initial cut and style, I cut 8 inches off! H LOVES it and I surprisingly like it a lot!

i haven't gotten my hair cut since the wedding, but only because i moved away from my hairdresser  :(

  • I look better with longer hair than short, and H hates the "mom cut" as he calls it, so I'll be keeping mine long =]  Although I did cut 6 inches off about 2 months after the wedding, but it had gotten so long that only put it up to a few inches past my shoulders!

My hair sheds really bad too. H says he finds my hair in his clothes all the time. I think it's from the laundry but still it annoys him from time to time but he gets over it.

  • I cut mine off about a week after we got back from the honeymoon. I ususally keep it short (Like chin length bob) so growing it out for the wedding took a LOT of patience for me, I was dying to cut it again! I get so bored with hair though that I usually cut it short, let it grow to shoulder length, then cut it again, and play with colors every now and then. I cut it really short one year (like an inch from my head) and spiked it, while it was fun then, I would never do it again it took wayyy too long to grow out.
  • I got mine cut a little bit after the wedding. I wanted to donate it but it wasn't long enough and I desperately needed a cut. So I'm continuing to grow it so hopefully I can donate before the end of the year.

Before the wedding I kept my hair about shoulder length. Now that it's longer I really like it and think I will keep it longer for awhile.

  • I got mine cut pretty short a few weeks ago.  I would have gone shorter, but DH begged me not to. Its right at my shoulders.
  • That's awesome! I dislike wearing my hair up away from my face... I feel like a boy. I could never have a short haircut. I need to feel hair on my shoulders. Some people look amazing with short hair, but I just don't have the confidence for it. I feel more confident with long hair, or rather less like a boy haha!

  • I did!! The morning after the wedding! haha!

The lady cut it about 3-4 inches too short, so it took a lot of getting used to, I cut 13 inches off!
