Impatiently waiting to hear about a job....

Ugh, I HATE my current job and applied for an amazing opportunity in August...fast forward now and after two interviews that I think went great they are still deliberating on final candidates and are waiting for my official transcript to arrive (it took so long b/c the ordering process is outsourced and got all messed up).  Anyway, Ive complained to my husband enough so I'm just venting here...I really really could use this job on so many levels....nesties put your good vibes out there for me!  The suspense is killing me!

Please and thank you....

Re: Impatiently waiting to hear about a job....

  • I can sympathize about hating your job! Good that you found another opportunity! The waiting game is the absolute worst thing ever. I don't think there's any avoiding that. It's hard to find that balance between being hopeful, but not too hopeful where you'll be absolutely crushed if you don't get it. It's out of your hands now! I hope you get the job, but I also hope the potential employer would be decent enough to call you if you didn't get the job. At least then you would know! Good luck!

  • I went on an internship interview on Monday. It seemed to go very well. I sent her an email that day thanking her and also tried to clarify for her that I do not need to earn college credit (co op internship) . I was just trying to be considerate in case I didn't meet the internship requirements. She hasn't emailed me back yet. It has been 4 days.

She said at the end of the interview she would be conducting 2nd interviews in about 2 weeks. I guess I am just frustrated with myself for sending the email.

I suppose it would be best to wait out the two weeks to see if I get contacted.

  • Update: Turns out, I was disqualified from further consideration because they changed their criteria to business majors only on my college's career website. I sent the HR manager a message via Linkedin (since she is a contact there) and said I was thankful for the opportunity to interview for the internship position on (date of interview). I said that I just noticed on my college's career services website that the criteria had been modified to exclude students whom were not business major. I also said that I was still interested in working for the company and would like it if they considered me for future positions. 2 and a half weeks later, the HR manager messages me back and thanked me for my message and interest in the company. She said she was going to forward my message to the hiring manager and keep my info on file for future opportunites!!! I think it is a positive sign!
