I saw the post below about Arizona, but my quesiton is a bit more specific to Tempe.
We'll be out there next month for 5 days (I think?) DH is racing Ironman AZ, so we'll be in Tempe for the race (flying in and out of Phoenix). DD is just over 2.5, can you recommend any things that are worth DD and I checking out? I have planned 1 day to see a friend that lives near Mesa, but I would like a few other ideas for DD and I - probably for part of the day Friday and Monday. Things are sort of up in the air with the race and how that day pans out but I like back-up plans.
I'd like to take a drive up to Sedona, but I don't know when/how/if we'd be able to fit that in, with having such a short period of time there.
Thanks for your tips and suggestions!

Our wedding on Wilson Island!
Ditto Jells, I'm not a parent either, but I know my sister takes my nephew to the Phoenix Zoo quite a bit. The Botanical Gardens are also nice, but not sure how interested your 2 year old will be in seeing plants, although they might still have their butterfly exhibit open, which is always a favorite of kids when we go there.
Sedona isn't more than a 2 hour drive from Tempe either, we were just up there last weekend, so it's very possible to make a day trip out of it.
