Monday Food and Fit check in

Weekend update: Was sick all week...so didn't do or eat much of anything. The upsize is I lost 2lbs, but it will probably all be back by tomorrow seeing as I wasn't eating hardly at all...

Food Goals this week: H thinks I am crazy but I am trying to get back into more vegitarian cooking, and making soups (I have never been a huge fan of soups, but theres tons of vegitatian soups and  they are soo cheap to make!)

Fit Goals: Tomorrow FINALLY going to start back on Zumba, probably just a short class, but its a start after a week of doing nothing because of feeling like crap.

Re: Monday Food and Fit check in

  • I hope you're feeling better!

I just made a soup yesterday and it was awful! I found the recipe on Pinterest for loaded baked potato soup and it was so bad. H said that he liked it but I couldn't gag it down. I followed the recipe exactly as it said so I'm not sure what went wrong but I have a huge pot of it so H better really, really like it :)

I'm not much of a fitness gal. I always tell myself I'm going to start doing some workouts again (I have the insanity and Jullian Michael's dvds) but I never do. I've probably put on 5-7 pounds since the wedding and I would love to get rid of it but I lack major motivation. Plus food is my weakness :(

  • Weekend update: I slept in on Saturday and missed my Zumba class.  I've been really struggling with high-calorie foods because my in-laws eat like crap.

Food Goals this week: Not sure if I'm willing to change food habits.  I don't have TERRIBLE food habits- my issue is getting back into the habit of exercising.

Fit Goals: I did wake myself up to go the Spinning this morning at 6am! I was so close to saying "screw it" but I had an exam this morning at 9 that I hadn't studied for (like at all) and I knew if I didn't go to Spinning, I would go back to sleep and probably not wake up until just before the exam. Thank you Psych test for making me go the Spinning!

Oh! And I plan to start an Ab Lab class Friday morning! Woo hoo!!

      Anniversary
  • Weekend update: I actually cookedo n a Saturday night. Normally H and I don't plan to cook anything and either go out or go to a friends and they cook. I also made pulled pork for the first time and it was really good there is plenty of left overs so H will have lunch and dinner for tonight.

Food Goals this week: I am going to try and find either a beef stew or roast recipe this week to try and make next weekend. I'm trying to branch out but also I am getting into winter food mode.

Fit Goals: Just trying to get out of the house more. Since the weather is starting to cool off I don't feel like I will die outside.

  • I'm glad i'm not the only motivationally challenged one...

Weekend update: It was alright, didn't go much, spent Saturday on the road and at the hospital with grams. Had a caesar salad with Calamari for lunch and McDonalds for supper (wasn't my choice, i was literally just along for the ride in the car at that point, and the people i was with had their grandson with them and that's where he wanted to go). Sunday, had bacon sandwiches for breakfast and a roast and potatoes and cauliflower for supper... but didn't do much for exercise.

Food Goals this week: I'm with the above posts, it's not that i eat TERRIBLY, thought I love food.. :( lol I'm also going to have a hard time because H is working late ALL week so I definitely don't eat as well when i'm just cooking for me... so I guess my goal will to be not to eat like crap while H is working... i'll let you all know how that goes!

Fit Goals: I bought a Bowflex TreadClimber...it's been sitting in the basement since I got it, and i've used it once. WIth H working this week, i'm going to try and get into the habit of coming home from work and getting on it before supper! Starting today, wish me luck!

I simple roast recipe to do in the crockpot is to take beef broth, dry onion soup mix, carrots, celery and potatoes (or any other veggies you like) throw in the roast and cook until done. Once done, take out the roast and veggies mix a little corn starch into the gravy to thicken it so it's not so runny. Or if you don't want to do add pototoes in the crockpot, you can serve with mashed potatoes and have the gravy for that. I typically rub the roast with pepper, salt and a little garlic powder before putting it in the crock pot.
