Do you feed strays?

I used to and then a family of possums tried to shake me down for more cat food.

Flash forward a few years.... we've got this cat loitering on the property.  I call him Socks.  I want to feed him (since he's debut I have not seen a groundhog)  but worried that may lead to party crashers of the wild kind.   What would you do?

sometimes all you really need in life is a pink wig.

Re: Do you feed strays?

  • We have so many strays always in our backyard.... I do not feed... I don't want them expecting it and coming any closer then they are.  Plus it's already a struggle to remember to feed the one I have willingly Surprise

  • I would avoid feeding. You may encounter more once the food is out and become that crazy cat lady. Just saying' ;)

  • my complex is full of feral cats.  I refuse to feed the suckers.  I would much rather they eat any vermin that are creeping around.
  • I found a stray outside my office window and starting feeding it my leftover lunches. Now she is sleeping in a box on my files in my office... **sigh**

  • Def didn't answer your question though! I have strays outside my house that belong to the barn next door. I will not feed them a) bc they belong to my neighbors barn b) bc there are 20 of them and if you feed one they all come.
