Re: Tuesday Randoms

  • me too! I had off yesterday and it is just making this week seem even longer. So instead of doing all the work I need to catch up, I am obsessing over the kid's outfits for their holiday pics next week. I got T3's dress, now I need to find coordinating outfits for the boys (who avoid any type of jeans and dress clothes like the plague)

  • My kid has been running fevers on and off for two weeks.  He had to have a chest x-ray this morning and I'm a nervous wreck.  I couldn't take him and it sucks.  I'm a bundle of anxiety right now.
  • Shannon- sorry to hear...can you schedule something soon?

Jess- Fingers crossed the x-rays show no big issues!

I, too, am super stressed.  Trying to potty train DD, while nurse DS what seems like every two minutes and deal with his acid reflux, plus the dogs needing medication every couple of hours (seriously) is making me batty.  DH is doing what he can to help, but he's out of the house from 8am-8:30pm every day.  This is going to really blow in a few weeks when I'm back at work and the kids come with me (another thing I'm stressed about, because my new boss apparently moved 2 stray cats into my small office!) I just am getting frustrated because I feel like this huge failure sometimes, like last night when DH came home and I was still in dirty pajamas.  Ugh, I swore I'd never be THAT mom/wife.

  • Saw the doc today for my four week checkup.  Everything looks good.  Since I found out I am preggo on June 21, I am up 13 pounds total.  I also finally got confirmation of my blood type after 3 tests to figure it out.  Long story short, I have gone through life stating I was A Neg. My prenatal work up came back A Positive.  They sent me for a second test which came back A Positive again. The doc then said the lab did the wrong test, so I was sent for a third one, which came back, lo and behold, A Negative.  So today she says to me I will need to get the shots at around 28 weeks.  I laughed and said after all this, I don't think it's necessary, because we just had DH tested and he came back O Negative. So as long as I bring the lab report to my next visit proving he is O Negative, I can avoid the needles.

I am feeling good overall, like my normal self but with a bigger belly.

  • Hugs, Shannon.  Sorry you are going through a rough time.

Jess - hope everything is ok with V.

  • Jamie- you have a 2 year old, an infant and dogs.  Being in your pjs all day does not make you that mom/wife.  You don't do it every day and you are getting into the swing of things with 2 little ones.  If it were any of us, you would be telling us we were doing great.  So, Jamie, you are doing great!

I've got nothing.  I want a new everything (job, house, car) and I'm having a frustrated with my position in life kind of month.

  • thanks guys.  i think everyone here is awesome.  period, end of story.

random: I just recently discovered that you can buy frozen, precut bell pepper strips.  I am making a chicken cacciatore recipe in the crockpot on thursday and this made my life monumentally easier as far as prep.

  • Jess and Shannon- hope everything turns out ok for you both.

  • I'm totally post whoring today.  My kid is ok.  It's not pneumonia.  He just has a virus that he can't shake.
  • I worked over the weekend, so I took the last two days off just to vedge. I sat outside with coffee and a book yesterday and today I'm just hanging around the house and cooking. For the first time in awhile, I actually feel relaxed. I need to do this more often!

  • Thanks everyone, nothing planned yet.

Glad to hear its not pneumonia, Jess!

  • I got nothing of real interest.  Just super busy at work, and I've actually been working since half the sh!t on the nets are blocked.  This is my one out.  Who knows for how long...

Shannon, I hope things work out for you and you get a much needed night out.

Jamie, I'm sure your doing a fantastic job.  Nothing wrong with being in your jammies all day, wish I could.  Hang in there, once you get a rythm down, it'll be better.

Happy to hear nothing serious with the sick little ones.  Hope they are better quickly.

  • This post just reminded me that it's only Tuesday. Sad

WORD. With the wedding this past weekend I feel like I didn't have a real weekend. I already can't wait for this coming one where I can sleep in and do what I want.

    I got nothin' though.

Ok, so I know you like to multi task but is there anything you can ease up on? Is there any way to maybe back off on the PT? Does she need it for school or anything? It can be tough to try to get them to PT during times of change and stress and this def qualifies.

Is there anyone who can come over to take care of the dogs? Perhaps hire a dog walking service temporarily for the next few weeks and give them their meds?

IMO, if you're a new mom and everyone is alive at the end of the day you've succeeded.

Don't overwhelm yourself, ok? You're recovering from major abdominal surgery and dealing with a lot of stress.

  • I don't have much - just bogged down in school and dealing with a very feisty nearly 2 year old.

However, I found out I'm going to be an aunt for the first time and I am so ecstatic about it.

Also, I've been sick since Friday and I have laryngitis from the nasty shiiit that's been dripping down the back of my throat and irritating it. It's so disgusting.

This happened to me- when preggo with DD, no one mentioned shots and when I was in the delivery room a nurse casually asked when I got my rogham shot and I was like huh?

Then, I had a miscarriage last fall and they gave me that shot and asked me ten times why I never got it with DD.

When preggo with DS, I had to get the shot again, plus go to the high risk doc for a consult, plus do ultrasounds every month to monitor in case a blood issue came up.  I am A neg and DH is O neg, and we both showed proof...but nobody wanted to hear it.  They must have been sued by someone who they screwed up on or something because they were crazy about being on top of it this time, even though more than one doctor acknowledged that with DH and I both negative blood types it wasn't going to be an issue.  Good luck to you- I know how frustrated you must be!

  • And thanks everyone for the kind words.  I am actually at my parents' house right now- my dad is playing with DD while DS sits here with me...I do have people who can help, but it just gets frustrating because I like to be in control...and I feel silly calling nonstop with 'can you do this?' etc.

I want DD to stick with the potty training because she still usually does show interest, and I don't want to just throw away our hard work so far.  So, really, it's partly because I don't want to send mixed signals when she does show interest- I want to be consistent in how important it is...and partly, yes, it's me being stubborn.
