Moms of boys - meatal stenosis?

Anyone take their son to a pediatric urologist for meatal stenosis?  Did they do corrective surgery?

Re: Moms of boys - meatal stenosis?

  • I was waiting for my friend at work to get back to me because I know her son had to have a few surgeries on his man parts as a baby. He was a really REALLY premie and had a lot of issues. Anyhoo, she said:

He did have a meatal stenosis (after all of his surgeries) and they did it right in the office. He was a baby at the time. we had to put the numbing cream on it at home, then more in the office then they used a little tool to open it up a little more. Not pleasant at all, unfortunately.

As for surgery, it would depend on whether or not it is just the opening or if the urethra itself has narrowed. --- at one point they thought that was the case and they had to do "surgery" on him which was really just like arthroscopic and went in to see if it had closed up.
