Whatcha reading?

Sorry, I miss not posting what everyone is reading!  And with 2.5 weeks off work I've been a reading fiend.

I think I'm over Dragonfly in Amber... I'm like half done, had to put it on hold for a 3rd time at the library.  It just became available and i'm like OH MAN!  when usually I'm excited.  I think it's a sign not to try and restart it...

I read Anna and the French Kiss - Stephanie Perkins on our HM, LOVE! (Thanks big A!)  I started Lola and the boy next door (same author), but it's going to be awhile to really get into it with a full DVR and a house that hasn't been cleaned cleaned in months... but it might be my weekend book.

I also finished City of Bones - Cassandra Claire (Mortal Instruments #1), which was pretty interesting.  YA, scifi... good story.  I started Night Circus - Eric Morgenstern.  It's weird and kind of jumps a lot, but I think the plot is starting to come together.

Audio - Almost done Valley Of Silence - Nora Roberts #3 Circle Series.  Then I'm either listening to Ender's Game, or #2 of Percy Jackson...

It's eh... but I want to know how it ends.  It's more fantasty and I don't think Nora Roberts should try writing fantasty again...

I've heard her fantasy books aren't nearly as good

I'm so glad you liked that book it's one of my favorites.  I read one of the author's blog posts once and she said she was really depressed while writing Lola because she was under time constraints and didn't feel like she was being allowed to really write the way she wanted to.  It was interesting.

I'm reading The Giver, it is one of my favorites and the author recently wrote a companion novel I want to read.

The Giver is my favorite book ever. BUT I hated Gathering Blue. I didn't want any more information- I liked my ideas better than the answers given in GB

I did not like Gathering Blue, and I think there's a 3rd book right?  GB was a quick read... just different from The Giver.

  • I read Belly Laughs by Jenny McCarthy on Sunday. It was funny and a super quick read.

I finished Last to Die by Tess Gerritsen last week. It wasn't my favorite of her books but it was okay.

I also started Spending the Holidays with People I Want to Punch in the Throat by Jenn who writes the blog, People I Want to Punch in the Throat. So far, it's been an easy read and I'm enjoying it.

I started DISROBED An Inside Look at the Life and Work of a Federal Trial Judge by Frederic Block too. I like it so far.
