Should I be freaked out?

So usually my period is pretty regular- It always shows up within one or two days (early or late) of when it should. But this month it has shown up a whole week early. The only different thing I have going on is I've had a cold for the past 4 days or so and have been taking medicine for it- I've read online that illness/ medicine can mess with the timing, but mostly in relation to making periods later. I was also stressed/ more active around our yard sale last weekend, but I wouldn't have thought it would've been enough to mess with my cycle.

Is this a "super weird, call the doctor tomorrow" or "a little weird, wait and see what happens next month" kind of thing?

TIA :)

Re: Should I be freaked out?

  • I wouldn't get too upset over it-if it happens again, then I'd call the Dr.

  • I wouldn't be freaked out.. If you're on antibiotics or anything, they usually mess with birth control (if you're on it)

  • I'll echo PP and say that I wouldn't be concerned.  If it starts happening more frequently, or there is a lot of pain (more than your usual PMS cramps) then I would see a doctor.

My mom always likes to throw in "uncontrollable vomitting" if you have that also, you should see a doctor... but I think she just does that to freak me out.  lol

  • I agree with the other ladies there are so many things that can affect that. I would say as long as your getting AF regularly no need to worry unless you have other new issues.
