Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

Sh*t My Mom Says...
I haven't posted one of these in awhile so I thought today would be a good day for one! She's been extra crazy lately but it drains me to talk about it so I haven't really. Last night though I was just like wtf?! So here's our phone conversation:
Oh ..just an FYI - My H is an industrial electrician..in case you didn't know. That's what he does.
Mom: How's H?
Me: Oh yea he's doing okay. You know whatever.. blah blah
Mom: Are you really proud of yourself for marrying a construction worker?
Me: uh yes I am.
Mom: Well I mean.. we sent you to all of those fancy schools. I just thought you would end up with someone who was a little ...different than that.
Me: I'm perfectly happy with H.
Mom: I know this is really bothering you. Do you want me to have dad talk to him about getting a better job?
Me: IT'S NOT BOTHERING ME.
This lady....

If he and you are happy and money is good... why does it matter?! I want to throat punch her. My dad was a construction worker, and one of the best dads out there. /rant
Sometimes H asks if I wish he'd go to college. I said that doesn't matter to me, I just want him happy with what he's doing and he's happy working with his hands... he'd HATE a desk job.
She's an idiot. He's done a lot of work for my parents! And, while I have two degrees and make good money, he made more than I did last year. She's so frustrating.
Honestly, as long as he was doing his best to support our family, I would be proud of him.
Maybe next time he should charge her his usual fee ;-)
haha! Right! He never charges her. I don't think he's ever charged anyone for any of the side work he's done.
