Wedding memories!

The board is slow and I don't like it :-p   Sooo, let's re-hash some wedding memories!

Remind us all... What were your wedding colors?

Were you happy with your flowers?

Did you like your cake? look-wise and taste-wise?

What is the most vivid memory you have of your wedding day?

Is there anything you would have changed?

Are you planning anything for your 6-month anniversay? (...that will be here sooo soon! Can't believe it's almost been half a year already!)

Re: Wedding memories!

  • What were your wedding colors?Teal, orange, & gray

Were you happy with your flowers? Meh, mostly- I ordered them from Costco and the quality was great, but I really didn't love the way my mom & her friends arranged them.

Did you like your cake? look-wise and taste-wise? Yup on both counts- We had multiple homemade cakes frosted in white/ cream icing.

What is the most vivid memory you have of your wedding day? Being SO incredibly happy. Also standing in the field with the photog, and hearing some of our favorite requested songs being played at the reception.

Is there anything you would have changed? I probably would have put someone else besides my mom in charge of clean up- She was terrible at it. And now keeps saying when she talks about it that someone should have been in charge of cleanup, like she's in total denial that SHE was supposed to have been in charge. Blargh.

Are you planning anything for your 6-month anniversary? Not that I know of ;)

  • What were your wedding colors? Lavender, Light Blue, and White

Were you happy with your flowers? Yes, I loved all of our flowers. Our florist did an amazing job and it was exactly as I had envisioned

Did you like your cake? look-wise and taste-wise? Yes... I was actually in awe when I first saw our cake haha.  Even though I had picked out the design, it just looked so much better than even I had imagained it. And it was really yummy :)

What is the most vivid memory you have of your wedding day? I remember being really nervous/emotional right before walking down the aisle, and then the second I saw H at the end of the aisle I was instantly calm. It sounds so cliche and cheesy, but it actually happened and it was a great feeling :)

I also remember my brother (who had a bit too much to drink that night) yelling "Stop it!  That's my sister!" every time H and I kissed.  It was hilarious at first... then it just got kind of annoying, lol

Is there anything you would have changed? No, not really.  Sometimes  (mostly when I see something on Pinterest), I wish I would have done something more. But then I remember we had a budget so I probably wouldn't have done it anyways, haha. I was so happy that day that none of the details ended up mattering to me. And the day went surprisingly smoothly!

Are you planning anything for your 6-month anniversay?  Nothing big... We'll probably go out to eat and then we plan on having the top tier of our cake :)

For our 1 year anniversary, we'll order a new cake from our baker in the 2nd flavor that we had.

  • What were your wedding colors? Pink and Black with white and silver accents

Were you happy with your flowers? Yes they looked amazing!

Did you like your cake? look-wise and taste-wise? Taste wise was fabulous look wise I wish it would have been a little more "fancy" but it was exactly what I wanted.

What is the most vivid memory you have of your wedding day? Having so much fun and I loved spending so much time with my girls.

Is there anything you would have changed? Maybe my centerpieces for the most part I loved them but there was a few things about them I would change. Also I would have put up a drink menu. But nothing big!

Are you planning anything for your 6-month anniversary? Not exactly. We come back from a cruise the day before so I guess the cruise would be it.

  • What were your wedding colors? Navy blue (though my MOH and best man wore more of a cobalt blue, and didn't match...oh well), burlap, white, and accents of hot pink.

Were you happy with your flowers? I LOVED my bouquet and my MOH's. I didn't have alot of flowers. I had blue hydrangeas on the tables with lanterns. I requested hot pink carnations for the cake, but my florist decided she wanted these tiny roses instead. I also wanted a flower inside of these round candle holders I had. I filled them halfway with sand and the flower was to go inside. They went inside, but they didn't cut the stem, so the flowers were poking out at the top. Not what I had in mind, but I am sure no one noticed but me.

Did you like your cake? Look-wise and taste-wise? The cake was super delicious and it looked pretty much the way I thought it would. So, yes and yes.

What is the most vivid memory you have of your wedding day? Standing up there with the man I was marrying and seeing him beaming. It's funny how his mouth kept twitching and it kinda made me giggle a little.

Is there anything you would have changed? The one thing that comes to mind is I would have smiled walking down the aisle. I was so nervous! And in pictures I look scared. I didn't break a smile really until I reached the end. Also, I would have had my photographer an extra hour (before the ceremony).

Are you planning anything for your 6 month anniversary? Not that I can think of! Maybe buy a new sofa!

  • Remind us all... What were your wedding colors?  My wedding colors were Victorian lilac (purple) and yellow.

Were you happy with your flowers?  I liked my flowers.  The bridesmaids carried a small bouquet of yellow tulips, and mine was pretty (the colors might have been a little off though in my bouquet).  I was happy to use tulips since I am dutch.

Did you like your cake? look-wise and taste-wise?  I loved my cake.  I got it from the best bakery in the town I live in.  Actually, we did center piece cakes.  Then had a small two tier wedding party cake.  I was planning on having the top tier of the the two tier cake served, but it didn't have to be, so we get to participate in the cake top tradition on our 1 year anniversary.

What is the most vivid memory you have of your wedding day?  Just being with family.  The moment I walked down the aisle.

Is there anything you would have changed?  I don't think so.  Maybe I would have spent a little more money on a photographer.  We used amateurs, so some of the pictures weren't the greatest.

Are you planning anything for your 6-month anniversay?  Nope.  I was a May 26 bride, so our 6 month will be right after Thanksgiving.  We will be in Maryland for Thanksgiving (we live in Michigan), so I guess that is close enough.

  • Remind us all... What were your wedding colors?

Pastel Pink and Spring Green, my girls wore black

Were you happy with your flowers?

No, a friend recommend a place online and they did a change to my flowers without checking with me and they were butt a$$ ugly.  I wound up going to price chopper to get flowers and making boutineers the night before.  My girls flowers were nice, mine were Meh.

Did you like your cake? look-wise and taste-wise?

Love, love, loved our cake.  Orange creamsicle cake with butter cream frosting.  Looks exactly like what we asked for

What is the most vivid memory you have of your wedding day?

Honestly, I was so sick for the wedding, I don't remember much of it.  I do remember Mike got teary and the guests laughing because I pulled a tissue out from in between my boobs and wiped his eyes and nose.

Is there anything you would have changed?

Yes, I would have gotten a different florist and a better photographer

Are you planning anything for your 6-month anniversay?

Nope, we're in the middle of a total house renovation, so unless hanging drywall and plumbing counts as romantic, we are going to wait for our 1 year.  We are hoping to do disney.

  • What were your wedding colors? Green and Ivory/White/Creme

Were you happy with your flowers? Yes but they were not what I had asked for.

Did you like your cake? look-wise and taste-wise? A family friend made it and it was delicious, it wasnt exactally how I envisioned it, but she did the best she could and I am grateful for it.

What is the most vivid memory you have of your wedding day? My Nephew falling in the creek and my flowergirl being a ham.

Is there anything you would have changed? I would have gone with different photographers...but I have enough pictures I am happy with, so oh well.

Are you planning anything for your 6-month anniversay? I highly doubt it. I'll be working 5pm-1am that day.

  • Remind us all... What were your wedding colors?
                    Red & Champagne

Were you happy with your flowers?
For the most part. I really wanted to bouquet to be tight and alot of the flowers started to stick out... I was the only person to notice, of course.

Did you like your cake? look-wise and taste-wise?
Our cake was super cute! The taste was also great! Though I wish there would have been less, or less sweet, frosting.

What is the most vivid memory you have of your wedding day?
Hmmm, that?s so difficult. My whole day was fabulous and memorable. One crazy memory was leaving the hotel for first look pictures. I am in my dress and veil,  decked out, and people are staring and I get in my car to leave with one of my bridesmaids (age 12) and start driving. I am covered in dress and can hardly turn my head because of my long veil! I was terrified! I vividly remember H getting choked up during his vows but my clearly and loudly saying mine because I wanted everyone to know that THIS is what I wanted.

Is there anything you would have changed?
Maybe our DJ? he was weird. He didn?t tell us or anything but he SANG the last song of the night.

Are you planning anything for your 6-month anniversay?
We are going to Pittsburgh, PA, we live in NE Ohio, to hang out and enjoy each other. We are so excited!

  • Remind us all... What were your wedding colors? Pink and green

Were you happy with your flowers? Yes! I loved my bouquet and all the other flowers, my florist was amazing!

Did you like your cake? look-wise and taste-wise? Loved my cake! It was exactly what I wanted and SO delicious! I still have chunks of cake in my freezer that I dip into every now and then.

What is the most vivid memory you have of your wedding day? Saying our vows...I'm remember that part like it was yesterday.

Is there anything you would have changed? Nope!

Are you planning anything for your 6-month anniversay? No nothing planned yet.

  • Remind us all... What were your wedding colors?

    Lavender, Plum & Gray

Were you happy with your flowers?

Very... I did them all myself :)

Did you like your cake? look-wise and taste-wise?

Oh yes.. it was one of my favorite details :) It had a damask pattern on it! And it tasted delicious!

What is the most vivid memory you have of your wedding day?

During the ceremony, I felt like everything was going in slow motion. H and I held hands through the whole thing, and mouthed "I love you" to each other a few times.. it was just so sweet :)

Is there anything you would have changed?

I would have actually eaten. At the very end of the night I was so dizzy and hot from dancing - I needed food!

Are you planning anything for your 6-month anniversary?

No, I don't think so. We will probably go out to dinner.. but nothing big.

  • Remind us all... What were your wedding colors?

    Dark blue and light blue

Were you happy with your flowers?

Yes, ordering them from Sam's Club and doing them myself was a great idea!

Did you like your cake? look-wise and taste-wise?

It tasted great. It was pretty too but not as perfect as I would have liked (lol)

What is the most vivid memory you have of your wedding day?

During the ceremony, I felt like everything was going in slow motion. H and I held hands through the whole thing, and mouthed "I love you" to each other a few times.. it was just so sweet :)

Is there anything you would have changed?

I would have relaxed more when getting ready and not worried so much about starting exactly at 3:00pm. I also would not have drank so much at the after party ;-)

Are you planning anything for your 6-month anniversary?

No, I will just say to H "wow it's been 6 months!"

  • Remind us all... What were your wedding colors? eggplant, we didn't really have an official 2nd colorWere you happy with your flowers? yes and no. I thought they were beautiful but it was unseasonably hot so some of our bouquets started to wilt. I don't think that's the florists fault because she couldn't have know it was going to be 80+ in New England in May! Also, she put our ceremony flowers right in front of the podium and obstructed our officiant and reader. That kind of upset me. Did you like your cake? look-wise and taste-wise? YES! I loved everything about our cake! It looked exactly like we wanted it to and was absolutely delicious! I've had a lot of people ask me for our baker's info since so I guess they agree! What is the most vivid memory you have of your wedding day? Not feeling nervous or getting cold feet. I remember at breakfast the day of my brother's wedding, he couldn't even eat he was so nervous! I was so calm and sure about marrying H! Is there anything you would have changed? I didn't care for our DJ. He messed up a lot of stuff (that only I noticed). I also would have had someone other than my MOH learn how to bustle my dress. It took her SO long to do it, it was kind of frustrating. Are you planning anything for your 6-month anniversay? Nope. I actually have jury duty that day! Maybe H will take me out to dinner since I'll be cooking Thanksgiving dinner that Thursday!

  • Remind us all... What were your wedding colors?Blue and Yellow. Were you happy with your flowers?Yes, they looked and smelled beautiful! Did you like your cake? look-wise and taste-wise?It was gorgeous and it tasted delicious.  What is the most vivid memory you have of your wedding day?Probably the ceremony, I was so nervous, that I had to keep reminding myself to pay attention so I didn't forget anything especially during H's vows, but I had to have him read them again a few days later :)Is there anything you would have changed? No, but maybe a different dress... I mean I loved my dress, but I really needed it to be tighter because although I didn't feel like my dress was falling in the chest area, in some photos it looks super low with a lot more cleavage than I wanted. But I did feel like a princess, which was exactly how I wanted to feel on my wedding day..Are you planning anything for your 6-month anniversary?Sort of. Our 6 month wedding anniversary is 11/5 but our 5 year dating anniversary is 11/6 so we are going to celebrate both (more our 5 year anniversary of being together) by going out to dinner that weekend. Plus we have a 3 day weekend which is awesome!

  • Sorry for the formatting but something funky happend when I hit copy :-)

What were your wedding colors? Blue (from cornflower to teal) and purple (mostly lavender

Were you happy with your flowers?, Yes  our florist was fantastic and the only thing I was bummed about was the pompadour I made for my niece disappeared but I had an extra mini bouquet made so she used that and loved it

Did you like your cake? look-wise and taste-wise? It was wonderful and perfect. Lemon cake with lemon custard and fresh rasberries.

What is the most vivid memory you have of your wedding day? When I walked down the aisle H simply said "Wow" and the other was our last dance of the night. Almost everyone was gone- it was the 2 of us on the dance floor dancing to the song H played for me after we got engaged (and 4 months before that I had told him I dreamed he proposed and that song was playing) It was wonderful.

Is there anything you would have changed? Yes, I would have made sure the second photographer took photos of my husband and his family

Are you planning anything for your 6-month anniversay?  a couple days after we'll be traveling back to my hometown for Thanksgiving (and the town we were married in) so I'm hoping later that week we can get a little cake from that bakery that did our wedding cake (we couldn't take the rest of ours with us)
