Do you think it is going to hit us really bad? Every news station is saying different things and weather.com doesn't even mention it. Is it worth going out and getting all the necessities?
Re: Hurricane..
Mmm weather.com does say it's going to hit us and hard. I'm actually a bit scared. It's 2 storms... a Nor'eastern colliding with a hurricane. They called it a frankenstorm
"At that point, the European model wants Sandy to "hug the coast line," and move into a landfall somewhere in the mid-Atlantic region, possibly near Baltimore or Washington, D.C. on Monday afternoon, Parker said. The U.S. GFS model "shows a later solution where the storm hooks around (to the east) and then comes into New York," he said."

Our area is known for flooding....
I wouldnt go crazy, but I heard on the radio this morning that the coast of Jersey is expecting about 1 billion in projected damages if it keeps the track its on. i dont normally get all weirded out by storms like this, but DH is worried so now Im a little concerned. We are going to do our normal shopping trip on Sunday morning any maybe pick up a few extra things.
I dont expect it to be Katrina type damage here in Delaware unless you are on the coast. B$ I am concerned about because shes near the beaches, but the rest of us are far enough in shore we shouldnt experence anything super crazy.
Its the wind I always worry about. Sending projectiles through one of my 30 windows or my sliding glass door is where I get freaked out.
DS is worried its going to ruin Halloween.
I was thinking about her too! Britt .. are you worried at all?
Honestly, I didn't even know about this storm until yesterday afternoon. I don't think I'm going to do anything differently than normal. We are out of milk though so I have to go to the grocery store
I know some parts of the town do flood but when we looked into our house insurance they told us we dont need flood insurance since were not in a flood zone. H is still checking to make sure the pump in the basement is working well and everything is set just in case. Fingers crossed it wont be that bad.
Yea, our insurance said we weren't in a flood zone either... and there were 5 houses in my developement with water damage / flooded basements from Irene. We had a river going through our back yards. Luckily our subpump was good. We really need to get a battery back up. Jeff was checking it every hour during Irene.
We got one last year, and I'm really glad we did.
I work with a guy who went to Penn State for Meteorology, though now he's a teacher. He is VERY into predicting storms and he's been saying for a week that this one was coming. He showed me all the models and I think we're going to get hit hard.
I have to go shopping tomorrow am anyway, but I'm hoping the crazies aren't out!
We're stocked up at my house. I'm worried about Ben's flight into Philly...and also I'm going to visit brittany this weekend to celebrate Halloween so if it looks bad sunday morning I'll pack her in the car and bring her and her dogs home with me.
oh and Ashley and I are driving the truck down because i think it will do better on the road than my car if the weather is really terrible.

That is a really good idea.
