Hurricane Sandy
I am not happy about hurricane Sandy hitting my area. This could be a really bad storm. They are talking about a possible power loss of a week! Insane!
This is not a good week for it to hit. My mom's cousin from Seattle was supposed to visit on us Monday, now he's not. I was excited because he was supposed to show us pictures of my cousins in Italy. My birthday is Wednesday and we may not even have power. That means we most likely won't be able to go out to celebrate. What a boring birthday for me! Oh and I have an OB appointment scheduled for Monday. That will proabably have to be re-scheduled. Oh and I am working as a long-term sub. If we don't have school, I don't get paid. AHHH!
DH and I are still going away tomorrow but we might have a hard time driving back on Monday afternoon in the high winds and rain. We might just stay an extra night if it's really bad.
Look at the picture below-----I live near Atlantic City, NJ, which is the south eastern part of the state. The track is going right over us. I'm a bit scared. I'm going out to Home Depot for flash lights and batteries. I hope they are not sold out.

While it's not a bad idea to be prepared, a lot can happen in two days. You'd be amazed how many hurricane predictions don't pan out.

Thanks Megan. This storm is supposed to reach as far as Pittsburgh. Crazy! And yes, we had a little bit of wet snow on Oct. 30 last year.

FYI.....nothing exciting here in Va. It's been constant showers since Saturday, but not really anything more than a normal rainy day. Some gusts overnight, but that's about it.
Heard some houses in Nags Head crashed into the ocean though....
