Talk to me about Indianapolis...what would be a fun to do on a weekend trip?
We aren't really nightclub people or into sports (though DH would enjoy the racetrack), and not very athletic/outdoorsy (though we do appreciate nature & lovely things to see). We do like cultural/art sorts of things, yummy food, etc.
Re: Indianapolis
If you like nature I would suggest the Brown county state park about an hour south of Indianapolis. You can hike, horseback ride. It is very hilly and beautiful. The town there is Nashville which is a cute artist colony. Lots of art galleries, small shops, candy stores.
I love love love it there!
Broad Ripple is the artsy area of Indianapolis. There is the Indianapolis Museum of Art on the west side. Downtown there is the Eitlegorg which is full of Native American exhibits and there is also the Indiana State and Children's museums downtown.
Indianapolis does not have the best food, lots of chains. There is a good steakhouse downtown that is called St Elmo's. One of my favorite places in Broad Ripple is Brugge's Brasserie, there are other independent restaurants in this are. My favorite breakfast place is Patachou- and there are several variations.
