I have OCD when it comes to matching things in different rooms in my house. In our living room our couch is brown, and our walls are a light yellow. I originally was thinking of having brown frames hung up on the wall to match the couch. But I love the look of black frames, they seem more striking, neat and elegant.
Is it weird to have a brown couch with black frames on the wall? Plus we have a large frame with a dark brown frame that we can't change. Is it weird to have all black frames except on dark brown?
I know, I know I have OCD when it comes to matching.
Re: Picture Frames
My Blog:Through My Eyes
I use black frames for everything just about. Black goes quite nicely with brown, and I see no problem using black frames and having a brown sofa. And I don't think it will look weird to have a brown frame up and surrounding black frames. Our dining table, as an example and side board (which is an antique vanity that was my grandmother's) are dark brown. I have black frames above the vanity, and the light fixture above the table have black cords. The dining room is open to the kitchen, which has black appliances.
Black and brown coordinate nicely, so don't be afraid to mix them.
We have wood, black and brown frames, and our walls are green with wood wainscoating and our couch is sage.
Now if only I can convince H to lose the display case of 30 scale Nascar cars that is in the living room along with the signed hockey stick (sigh).
