Any damage to your property?

Do you have power?

How does your neighborhood look?

Re: Post Storm Check In

  • How is everyone? We really lucked out.

Any damage to your property? No

Do you have power? I don't want to jinx myself but we still have power. Neither of my parents have power and IL's who are usually the only ones who have power lost theirs at 3p.m. yesterday.

How does your neighborhood look? I haven't driven or walked anywhere. Across the street from us is a house on the river with about 20 acres and part of their yard looks like a full on pond. The pond part is right next to another house so I don't know if their house flooded or not.

  • I hope that everyone is OK with minimal damage.

How is everyone?  We are OK, feeling lucky.

Any damage to your property?  We have a decent size tree down in the backyard, haven't been out yet to see whether it damaged the fence but if that's the worst, I'll take it!

Do you have power?  Yes!  I'm shocked, we always lose power during storms.

How does your neighborhood look?  Not sure, we haven't been out, but I'd be willing to bet that there are quite a few trees down.  After Irene it looked like a war zone when we finally drove around the neighborhood.

  • GOOD!!! We have power and no damage. The neighborhood and our yards have way more water then I've ever seen. We have some water seeping in our waterproofed basement but we're doing okay.
  • Never lost power, and no damage around here. In fact, we ran across the street to check out the new Wegman's this morning, and it was pretty busy for 8 a.m. on a Tuesday!

I know there's still a lot of people without power, but everyone I know who usually loses power didn't this time -- so that's a blessing.
  • How is everyone? We are fine.

Any damage to your property? Our roof started to leak in our hallway.

Do you have power? Yes, we never lost power.

How does your neighborhood look?A few down trees and a port-a-potty was tossed on it's side. That should be fun to clean up. I'm at work today (half day) and the drive down 95 wasn't to bad. Lots of leaves and a few tree downs, but nothing really on the road.

  • We made out ok.  No damage to speak of for us, but the in laws' fence was completely destroyed. We lost power last night around 5pm and got it back this afternoon around 3pm.  I didn't realize just how much food we had in the fridge...

Neighborhood looks pretty terrible though.  Trees down, fences down, roof damage, car damage, etc, etc.

Hope everyone else made it through ok.

  • Fine. FWP, DD's Halloween party has been rescheduled to Friday - a day that I cannot go Sad

No major damage. Paranoid me made DH go into the attic to MAKE SURE it wasn't leaking. (Some of the roof beams were wet from last Friday's (Oct. 20th) storm). I noticed that I could see the sky! Well, just a sliver, so I made DH put plastic down, and then, later buckets. About 5.5 gallons came into our attic, not including the soaked beams. Looks like we will need a new roof this spring.

No down trees or anything else.

We were lucky that we never lost power.

Neighborhood looks mostly ok. A few downed trees and some tarped roofs, but nothing like the last storms.

  • Thankfully, we never lost power and didn't have any damage. My sister in Crofton and ILs in Bowie were fine too.

Yesterday, we called all of our employees (approximately 700 people) and no one had severe damage.  A handful were without power, some had minor leaks, but nothing of note.  I think we really lucked out.

  • How is everyone? Good here! The most inconvenient thing was DS's daycare being closed when DH and I were still trying to work from home.

Any damage to your property? Nope.

Do you have power? Yep. Never lost power.

How does your neighborhood look? Normal. I think we were too far west/inland to be hit really hard by this storm. The worst we got was a few flickers of the lights Monday night.

  • How is everyone? Good.  No one in the family was affected by this fortunately.

Any damage to your property? No.  Well, a windmill decoration I had in the garden broke but I'm okay with that.

Do you have power? Yes...luckily we never lost it.  Only lost cable for about 30 seconds, if that.

How does your neighborhood look? There are a lot of leaves around but no downed wires or furniture strewn about.

  • How is everyone? We are good.

Any damage to your property? No, a few trees out back fell, but they were small

Do you have power? We do now. We lost it for about 18 hours. We were watching a movie around 8pm on Mon and it went out. We packed up 2 coolers full of food and headed to my parents house so it wouldn't spoil. We came back around 6pm and it was on.

How does your neighborhood look?A few down trees but that was it.

  •  How is everyone? We are fine

Any damage to your property? Nothing to report

Do you have power? Yes it only flickered a few times.

How does your neighborhood look? A lot of leaves. A fellow nestie had all of the siding ripped off the side of her TH (We live in the same neighborhood)

We were fine at our house. We took our generator over to a few different people's houses so that they could empty their sumppump.

My grandmother lost one of her huge pine trees. Here are a few pictures of it:

  • How is everyone? We're good.  I had PTO on Monday from race recovery and then worked from home on Tuesday.

Any damage to your property? No, thank goodness. We had two larger limbs come down in our front yard and thankfully they missed both my car and our front porch.

Do you have power? Yes, flickered but never went out.

How does your neighborhood look?  Some downed trees, but so far nothing really terrible.
