How Was Everyone's Weekend?
Did anything exciting happen? Did anyone go to any Halloween parties? PIP your costume if you did! I love looking at costumes. We aren't dressing up this year so I need to live vicariously through others.
My weekend was boring as usual because I worked. But I did get to witness a real life "I didn't know I was pregnant" scenario. And I got to break the news. "Congrats! You're pregnant! Not only are you pregnant, but you're in your third trimester and you are in labor!" It was intense!
Re: How Was Everyone's Weekend?
It was good...pretty uneventful. Went to a Halloween movie with tiny on Saturday and out to eat. Yesterday was grocery shopping and being lazy.
Bobkat...how on earth did she not know? Was she freaking out?
Whoa - that's crazy. Are you a doctor? A friend of mine is a PA, and she regularly has horror stories of telling 12-year-olds they are pregnant. :-/
My weekend was good. On Friday night H and I stayed in with a box of wine (classy!) and watched TV. Saturday we went shopping for flooring options and ran some errands during the day, then met up with some friends for dinner at Fung's and went to a haunted house. It was pretty fun, though not as scary as I expected. While we were in line, they had people being suspended through hooks in their skin as some sort of "side show." It kind of made me nauseous. I think that stayed with me a lot more than anything in the actual haunted house.
Yesterday H was in Tulsa all day working on his latest car project. I got a hair cut (went from shoulder-length to pixie!), baked some awesome zucchini bread, and watched a lot of Netflix. All in all, it was a pretty great weekend.
Holy crap - that's definitely intense. How did she not know?!
My sister and her boyfriend threw a Halloween party on Friday, then we went to The Office because James Harden's birthday party was going on. Little did we know that'd be the last time we'd see him in Oklahoma...
Went to the OSU game Saturday [I drove up from OKC with a hangover...that was fun] and nearly froze my toes off. I now have a cold. Lame. But it was a really good game [one I for sure thought we were going to lose after we played like trash in the first half], and I'm glad I went. Was starting to doze off when the news broke about Harden's trade and tsunami warnings went out for Hawaii, so I was up way later than I thought I was going to be. Also watched Magic Mike for the first time; SO glad I didn't pay to see it in theaters.
Did some shopping for winter clothes for JJ on Sunday and just hung out until my mom dropped him back off. Yesterday was pretty quiet.
Halloween costume = cowgirl. The cowgirl hat that came with the costume didn't fit, so I became a cowgirl princess when I added a tiara to the mix [which I wasn't wearing in the picture]. This picture was taken before the party; by the end of the night, everyone was drunk and thought I was Pocahontas.
Well, I will give her a little credit, there were a few other health factors that could have made it more difficult to suspect pregnancy (trying to keep myself HIPPA appropriate here) but yes, she was freaking the F***out!
This is the second time I've seen this. The first time, the girl didn't know she was pregnant until the head was out. I'm not making any excuses for that one. It was so ridiculous.
Not a Dr. Just an ultrasound tech.
Did you decide on what type of flooring you want? You were the one looking into wood vs wood tile right?
Eww the skin hook thing would have made me sick too!
Cute costume! And LOL about Pocahontas!
my bookshelf!
Bloggy
First off - OSUWifey, I love your costume picture! I'm laughing at the Pocahontas part.
My weekend was pretty good. I went to a high school football game with my dad on Friday - it's kind of a yearly tradition that we started for some reason. Anyway, we smuggle in lots of candy and chuckle over various things. We're cut from the same cloth, all right. Saturday was the Race for the Cure. That was a nice walk - the air was cool and crisp, a lovely morning. Sunday we didn't do much of anything except for H's hockey game that night. He's playing again and it's really fun to watch him.
I typically think a person had to know in some way to some extent. Denial is powerful.
My weekend was good. Finished the Tulsa run, had some family reunion time, and then dealt with a sick kid for a bit.
Oh, cool. Ultrasound Tech is one of the many careers I've briefly considered in my life. Even took a physiology class at OCCC before I remembered how much I hate science.
It sounds like an interesting job, though.
Re: flooring, yes, that was me. We looked at some ceramic wood tile samples, and really liked it. I'm still not completely sold, but I do love the durability, and it'd be easier to install since we've installed tile before. I'm having a tough time envisioning it as flooring for the majority of a house, instead of just a bathroom, or just a sample tile. I'm wishing I'd toured some Parade of Homes houses. Luckily, we don't plan to get started on the floors until around January, so I've got some time to decide.
I want to see the new 'do
Also, the wood tile isn't easy to install. They had to do ours with levels over each piece to ensure they are even...otherwise you'd be stubbing the crap out of your toes! The grout lines are tiny...I don't doubt you could do it, but I am thinkin it's pretty time consuming after watching ours get installed. There were several pieces the builder made them bust out and redo because they weren't even.
It was good for me, though other people maybe wouldn't have enjoyed it. I went to the state cross country meet to watch two of our students run (my oboist was the first girl ever from our school to make it to state!). Both kids finished in the top 25% of the group, which is great for us. I also got some great photos. One was of the dad pinning the girl's number on her jersey, and the other she was walking away from the finish/kiss and cry area with her mom, holding her hand. I didn't even realize it until I looked at the photos today.
Then I went over to a marching contest and watched the largest schools in the state battle it out. Three band students and another teacher joined me there in the evening to watch the finals.
Yesterday, I baked a bundt cake for the band/orchestra dinner and a movie night that's tomorrow night, got groceries, got lunch with the husband, and ran errands. Then I went to community band which I adore.
I geeked out all weekend. It was pretty spectacular.
OSU--your costume looks great!
McG--super cute new 'do!
We didn't do anything Halloween related and aren't planning on it this year. I'm already gathering costume ideas for little man next year, though
We had a good weekend, although DH moped the whole weekend about missing the OU game. We spent some time with family, went to a wedding, and relaxed at home. We've been so busy since March (newborn, then moving, then me starting a new job, home reno's, etc.) that it's nice to have lazy weekends.
Sunday I went to a baby shower for my dear friend who is having twins. It gave me baby fever
Our weekend was pretty uneventful since H had to work all weekend.
Friday night M and I went over to ILs after dinner and hung out for a while.
Saturday we just lazed around, carved a pumpkin, played outside, and did some cleaning.
Sunday was church, laundry, and more lazing around. The ILs did come pick up M for a couple of hours and DH and I had dinner alone at a great sushi place.
Great! I'm glad you've found someone.
Thanks! A pixie is a big change if you've never had short hair, but I love it. My hair is pretty fine, so when it gets longer, it looks very "blah." It's very low-maintenance, and I like that not everyone has my haircut. You do have to be careful though, because lots of stylists will give you mom hair (no offense to moms) if you ask for a pixie. I can pass along my stylist's info if you're interested.
